Is this possible? My friend that I have known for a year jumped my bones last night. So this got my thinking can two gay guys be friends without ever having sex get in the way?

Mark

"Gay" is not even an important factor in the friendships I have with most of the gay people who I consider to be friends.

Other shared interests are the things which make friendships really something to treasure.

Of course. My best friend and I are more like brothers - it'll never happen.

Yes, have been friends with some gay guys and it's never crossed my mind. If it's ever crossed his mind, he's never mentioned it.

I've only had one. That was nearly 10 years ago. I think, if I approached him with the sex issue, we would have gone there.

I wish I had more gay men for friends, but the numbers just aren't in my favor in this area. :(

He jumped your bones last night? Seriously? As if you didn't want it to happen? You were just an innocent bystander?

Maybe this "friend" could be your life partner?

But wait. You are JUB staff. Is this a hypothetical question? Certainly there are gay men in your life that you are friends with?

This reminds me of someone I know who freaked me out now that he has come out. His sexual inuendos make me and others uncomfortable around him. Of course gay guys can be friends, but not the type like this person I know.

I never know gay encounters always imply a sex crash later.

The answer for OP: of course it can be.

Moving on.

Honestly, as a gay man I find the question offensive. It feeds in to the worst stereotype of gay men as uncontrollable sex addicts governed by a craving for cock.

The sad part is most gay guys are so picky they want good looking friends. Its hard enough to find gay guys to be friends with i have a couple of gay guys on my facebook friend list that lives in the next town and we talk a few times and i ask them lets hang out one day they always ignore the question. But let me be a good looking guy with a nice body and stuff they would be all over me like snow on a cold road. Its just sad that gay guys are picky about the way a guy looks. I just want to be friends not boyfriends or fuck buddies let it be a straight guy they wouldn't care. I would love to have a gay best friend someone who i can relate too. But thats like finding a needle in a hay stack

I had one gay guy on my friend list that wanted to have sex but i just wanted friends. He wasn't really talkative unless he was complaining.

I've got plenty of gay friends, and sex has never entered into it. Of course, we're all pretty ugly.

Lex

Good Lord, I've had dozens and dozens of gay friends over the last 40 years and never slept with any of them.

There are a few people in my life who I've had brief intimate relationships with, who later became friends, but that's a different story.

And of course there have been and are now some fuck buddies in my life. I'd call them friends as well.

Even though most of my closest gay male friends are guys that I have, at one time or another, been physically intimate with; I think it is possible to be friends only.

I have NEVER had sex with a "friend" male or female.

If I want to be with a girl or a guy I have to do intimate/sex/physical mode.

Because as soon as they enter friend zone I feel like im touching my mother.

But also I have zero boundaries with my friends, the only things we dont do is have sex. So take it or leave it.....

Of course you might have a crush on a guy and be too shy to admit it and say oh we are "Friends" that shit doesn't count and I know it is 95% of the situations when people have sex with a .... "Friend".... That is called a love interest, they just dont know it

The challenge is finding a friend you've NEVER slept with who you may
share common likenesses with such as looks, body type and similar attraction to others while remaining purely platonic. Every time I meet a friend of a guy
I'm dating or interested in; there's a high likelihood that the two of them slept
together at one point or another - Especially if his friend is fairly attractive.

I really hate that about this lifestyle...:(

That's a very important point. I tend to be drawn towards friends who are somewhat like myself; have a similar lifestyle and interests. And that usually means they are fit, have a high sex drive, and a roving eye. So we often end up hooking up even if we start out as friends.

One of my friends was visiting me in Toronto and wanted to got to a world class bathhouse. So I took him to the Steam Works and we got into this wild group scene in the steam room. And the next thing I know he was on his knees with his head between my legs. That was totally unexpected. But it was hot!
