Can i apply anti-biotics on an open sore

Assuming that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients, you can use an antibiotic ointment. In the US, Neosporin is a commonly used antibiotic ointment.

There's not any particular evidence that the antibiotic ointment is effective. The barrier provided by the petroleum jelly base of the ointment is probably enough. Washing the wound in a mild, soapy water solution and keeping it moist and covered by a bandage will do more to keep it free of infection than the antibiotic.

Also, in the picture above you'll notice that there's a white film over the wound. This is part of the healing process and while you should wash the wound with soap and water, we recommend that you not attempt to remove the white film.

probably i'll just clean it with mouth wash and cotton wool and let it dry.

If not, just cover it with an ointment. There are dozens on the market, but it doesn´t realy matter which one you take. Such a superficial wound will heal by itself without any trouble (unless you put earth or horseshit into it). Ointment and bandage just speed up the process a bit by keeping the wound clean and moist, also the bandage defines the "outside" for the body, it will push any dirt to it ( you might spot dark spots or tiny yellow lumps on the bandage when you change it) and direct the healing proces towards it.

This is one of the cases where you do the opposite of what Grandma said: Don´t scrub it clean every day, don´t let it dry on air, don´t leave it uncovered.

I did and i thanked him. It's healing without doing anything.
And i did not touch the white film. Just lightly wet the area with mouth wash and let it dry.

I don't recommend using antiseptics like alcohol (which is what is in mouthwash) unless you're cleaning dirt from a wound.

The reason that alcohol stings is that it kills living tissue in an open wound. The white substance on the surface is granulation tissue. It's a combination of white blood cells that are fighting infection and cells that are regenerating blood vessels and the connective tissue that allows tissue to growth to heal the wound. This would be what you're killing with alcohol.

By placing petroleum jelly or a sterile bandage on the wound, you keep the cells on the surface moist which helps them regenerate quicker. Cleaning the wound with soap and water is all that is needed.
