It's official. I lead an extremely boring life. Now mind you, we're talking the month of July here. Since I'm a teacher, I usually become a couch potato this month, but this is a typical day in my life.
I got up and got around this morning, deciding I needed to get my hair cut before I headed back to the school next week. Technically, I don't have to return to the building until August 15th, with classes starting the 18th. I hate being rushed, so I start getting things set-up beginning the 1st. So anyway, I go to Sam's at around 8:20 expecting to have to wait since there's usually half a dozen guys there. There's only the two barbers and two guys getting cut. I'm thinking I picked the right time to go. I haven't bothered to learn the two barbers names since I usually had the young guy cut mine (Max moved to OKC in June), but I do know neither's named Sam. Anyway, I sit down and pick up on the conversations and join in. One of the guys finishes their cut and stands up to pay. He stretches and I swear, I thought I was gonna cum right then and there. He was hot! He'd just got a buzzcut, and when he stretched he had the best looking treasure trail I've seen (and the six pack to go with it). He left and I got my cut, altho I don't really remember the conversations or much after watching the guy leave...
So, I finished up there and went to Wal-mart. One of my numerous excursions there. Liberal is fairly small -Wal-mart and Dillon's are the only to places to buy groceries. So I buy a few odds and ends and head up to the check-out. Visit with the cashier, who's one of my student's moms. She asks about what class he needs to take and I tell her. We visit a little longer and I start to leave, when she says she'll see me Sunday morning when I come back for my weekend visit. God, I go to that place too often when they know what days to expect me...
I come home and drop off my stuff. It's a little before 10 am, so I run up to the school since I noticed the principal was there as I drove home. I get there and he's already left. Oh well, I'll see him next week. The janitors give me the update on who's quit over the summer and the other good gossip I missed out on.
After I leave the school, I decided to head to Hastings to see if there's any new rentals out that I want to see. Nothing, but I browse the books and pick up a few comics -a couple of Superman titles that tie into a mini-series I'm reading. I'm starting to look forward to DC's Infinite Crisis coming out in October.
Now, here comes the really sad part. I pull up to the drive thru at Wendy's and before I even say anything, the kid says "You want the usual Mr. M?" I just say "Yeah" and pull up to the window. Alex takes my money and hand me my order. He smiles and says he'll see my in a few days when I need my next Wendy's fix.
The only interesting thing today was I had to take my car in to get it worked on. My appointment was at 3. It was done by 3:30 -all $300.82 worth. That now makes roughly 600 dollars I've put into repairs on Spirit this month. Mom agrees that whenever the mechanic tells me I need another big repair, tell him forget it and start looking for a new one. I currently have a 1996 DOdge Neon with close to 100,000 miles on it. It's just been the past two years that I've had several major repairs to it. I get home and the FedEx guy pulls in right behind me to drop off my end of the month stash of comics.
So, other than running around town, I spent the day inside reading and watching TNT. And every-so-often, I'd get online to check my email and visit JUB.
I like having a week off here and there, but having a month and a half off is driving me crazy! I think I can quote whole episodes of ER, Unsolved Mysteries, NYPD Blue, Law & Order, and Strong Medicine.
Okay, I'm finished bitching about my boring life. The dog wants out, so I need to tend to her.
