Can large heavy people take a joke ?

I think you were right the first time.

There are plenty of nasty responses here. Although it is good to see that many, including myself, were shocked at the outright hostility of some. In saying this, I'm in no way drawing any conclusions on the intentions of Telstra. That is a separate issue.

I look at the responses in your thread and Animalius' thread (loan shark) and wonder why people are so angry.

Why would anyone want to start a thread and when the likelihood of nasty responses is almost guaranteed?

A simple question about if a large heavy people can take a joke becomes a 5 page bitching fest.
I've made the right response for just quoting their posts.

What, you want all of JUB to rather be a bunch of yes-men?

Good luck with that.

Just curious...if someone called you a faggot "as a joke" how would you react?

Just repeat their posts would shut them up.
I find that funny ...

You might consider seeing a shrink...

What is your comment Nishin ?
A link about a word doesn't mean anything.

The issue of this very thread you mean? You are criticizing else for being mean when the very first post of this thread is Telstra insulting someones weight. Please explain to me why you're crying foul to everyone else in the thread but not him?

And his "intentions" on the comment are irrelevant when you're talking to someone for the first time through the internet that you don't know, how would said person know he was "joking" anyway? He wouldn't.

"you might crushed me" is an insult? yeah right.
I've heard much much worst!!!

Although that is entirely understandable with the lack of manners you brag about, there is the Sanskrit proverb: it is not goodness to be better than the worst.

A likely reason for this entire thread is that your victim on your hookup site blocked you, leaving you no one to rant about or attack, so you posted it here where you could hope to trigger exactly the reaction you did. It's really all about you getting back at the fat guy, isn't it? We're just his proxies so you can stick out your tongue at him after he slammed the door on your rudeness.

Nice job! :=D:

mmm making up stories again.
Here you go:

Telstra's right, of course. He asked a question, and we answered it. Indirectly, but still.

No, large heavy people can't take a joke.

When you pretend to be pulled into gravitational orbit around a fat guy, he almost never laughs.

When you ask a fat person reading the menu at a restaurant if he's just going to order everything, they rarely smile in response.

When you see a fat guy about to reach a door, and you tell him "We'd better grease that door frame up for you just in case", they never join in the laughing.

When you tell a fat woman "You have pretty shoes. i'm telling you that because you've obviously never seen them", they don't see the humor in it.

And as my friend says, "My humor is not to be questioned. Only your response to it."

I know some fat people who can take a joke, but that doesn't really justify going out of your way to be a douchebag. There's never a good hearted reason to make fun of someone for how they look, there's usually always only two reasons why someone would do that...

1. They are insecure about their own physical appearance and make fun of others to make themselves feel better and less insecure. It's like Charlize Theron's Evil Queen in 'Snow White and the Huntsman', she sucks the youth out of young girls to stay young and beautiful while they become older and uglier in the process, that's what some insecure people think they need to do with others. Suck their self esteem away so they can have some and making those people feel insecure about themselves in the process. Weird analogy but it makes sense to me. *shrugs*

2. They do it to show off to their friends how 'witty' and 'funny' they are so they can feel better embraced and accepted amongst their peers. It all goes back to insecurity again. They want to 'impress' their friends with the funniest comeback they can muster up in their heads and then fire away at the first available target that crosses their path. Ever notice how when assholes in a group make fun of you, afterwords they almost always look around at all their friends to make sure they're all laughing with him/her? They're thinking "Alright, I got them all to laugh! I'm so cool!" It's so transparent and stupid.

I don't think the OP's remark to this person was the 'meanest' thing he could've said, but it was obviously enough to hurt this guys feelings, you can't blame him for feeling offended. You may been turned off by his weight but he was probably turned off by your immaturity. All you had to really say "Thanks for asking but I'm sorry, I'm not really interested, but maybe we could be friends?"

. . . .

Precisely. Hence the placement of the ‘LOL’.

Telstra said:
the guy 180cm 110kg.
I said "you might crushed me" ... jokingly in a friendly way, then he blocked me right away LOL

So can large heavy people take this joke ?

In other words, “Look everyone! I insulted a fat guy and made him run away. Isn’t that funny?”

It's true across the board, though. If someone makes a limp joke about me, and I don't think it's funny, the person telling it never thinks it's the joke's fault. It's me. I have no sense of humor. I'm touchy about my height/weight/age/hairiness/job/boyfriend/sexuality. Again, as my friend said, "My humor is not to be questioned. Only your response to it."

I believe humor can be found everywhere, and can be used nearly all the time. I didn't think Telstra's "joke" was all that insulting as such things go, but I certainly think it was even less funny than it was insulting. And Telstra's response to his reaction was typical of people who make such comments - "either you're cool enough to appreciate my wicked sense of humor, or you ain't".
