  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Can someone explain Squid to me?

I’d tell you to watch Hunger Games but if you have time read the books instead. Much better.

Or you could just watch Battle Royale and save yourself the pretentiousness.

Just watched the first 3 episodes, it's rather good like most Korean shows I've binged on during the lock downs.

Dunno looked stupid but The CW has brought back Legends of The Hidden Temple!

Finished it, bit of a let down to be honest, the final twist you could see coming a mile off.

Meh, it passed the time.

I don't know what any of this is about but it's a good excuse to share Sungha Jung.

I think he's having a larf.

I haven't finished it yet, but it is about Capitalism.

‘SQUID GAME’ IS A LESSON ON THE DANGERS OF CAPITALISM

I mean all the people playing are in dire financial situations and are deciding to put themselves and others in harms way get money to survive. Kind of like how people are willing to work at bad work places with shitty working conditions cause they're just trying to survive. And it even shows that people that work at the facility live in these tiny little spaces and aren't treated much better than the people playing the game. Also desperate enough to do awful things just for an extra buck. People making awful decisions that hurt or even kill others because they're desperate in their own survival.

Going to talk about a couple spoilers here for those who haven't watched it, but people left and came back and their reasoning is because the situation outside isn't much better and they're going to end up dying either either way so they might as well try to survive in the game. That is unfortunately a lot of peoples actually reality in the World we live in. People suffer awful working conditions or ways of life just to make their overall life a little bit less shitty, because they're just trying to survive.

Squid Games is sending kids to hospitals:

While on lockdown in Sydney, Australia, 14-year-old Aiden Higgins set out to make honeycomb using a TikTok recipe that called for a mixture of water, bicarb soda and sugar in a plastic cup. When Higgins heated the concoction in the microwave, the plastic of the non-microwaveable cup melted together with the other ingredients.

According to the DailyMail, Higgins suffered first-degree burns on his hand and third degree burns to his leg. The burns on his leg caused nerve damage so severe that doctors considered giving him a skin graft.

“It boiled up to a ridiculous temperature, and when he took the cup out it exploded in his hand,” his mother Helen told the Daily Telegraph. “It has burnt his hand, and because it was sugar and plastic melted together, it has run down his leg from his knee down to his shin and it stuck and kept on burning and burning and burning.”

His recovery is expected to take a year.

According to the article, there are 3 victims in Sydney alone. There are others around the country.

Thanks for the spoiler warning. Super busy week so I havent had a chance to continue watching yet. Alnost had the whole thing ruined by an article about the producer mocking lebron james' dissatisfaction with whatever happened in the season finale.

our obsession with autonomy and personal accountability has come at the expense of understanding how media can be unfluebtial esp to those who are highly susceptible to influence consciously and subconsciously. Of course this is the result of propoganda put in place to protect megacorps from litigation.
