  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Can you off-road a "cute ute"?

Isn't that pic of a Honda HR-V not the Honda CR-V you mentioned as a best seller?

Though the HR-V is a direct rival to the Hyundai Kona in the subcompact class,

The best selling crossover is the Honda CR-V, and like the Kona these vehicles use styling to attract buyers.

Front overhang and not enough ground clearance means the Kona is about looks.
Hyundai gets a lot of power outta that 1.6 litre 4 cylinder engine, just stick to streets and highways, imho.

My fault - I should have included a pic of the Honda!

The CR-V is the top seller being roomier than the HR-V.
Looks aside, I personally would not take any of these vehicles off-road.
Btw, I test drove a CR-V. Very solid and quiet with a comfortable ride.

Now tell me, who would take an electric vehicle off-roading?

Fools! The bears would set upon them in no time. It's a proven scientific fact that bears cannot resist those galvanizing electric waves.

Car and Drivers final totals for 2018 showed the Toyota RAV4 ahead of the CR-V on the sales list.

That's interesting. But it's not much surprise that they are neck and neck. The Southpark lampoon of the "Toyonda" dealership is absolutely true.

SUVs are NOT about off roading! Sports Car fanatics try and lump all suvs as off road vehicles and make fun of them, while off roader try and lump all car as sports cars and make fun of those. I consider myself something of a car guy, and I drive n SUV. A Hyundai, even (Santa Fe). It's not because I am going to take it off road - stuff like they show in the video most cars can do with the right tires and driving skills. I like SUVs because of the little extra clearance for snow and potholes, for the ride height and better viewing angles, and for the roominess. Go back to the early cars and SUVs are little different in dimensions.

That's great to know because the most impressive vehicle I've accessed through Uber was a 2018 Toyota RAV4.
Solid, quiet and a comfortable ride - that 2018 RAV4 really surprised me. What an awesome commuter vehicle!

We have a few beaches around here that you need a 4 wheeler to get to. There is always someone with a "cute ute" that gets stuck in the sand and needs rescue. I have a jeep and some off the guys that are stuck are cute...

Better run for it, mark1111 - the new T-Roc is headed this way!

I like it. think they are going for the sports car of the utes rather than off road ute. wouldn't take it to the beach though.
