  • Sometimes. Maybe. But, I'd walk an extra 5 blocks to avoid it.

I'm in the walk 5 blocks camp, although I can parallel park. I just prefer to avoid it.

It also depends on what vehicle I'm driving. The K Car is somewhat easy, the Passat is VERY easy, but I hate parallel parking his pickup truck (he has a topper on the back so I just can't see out of the thing) and my minivan is a pain to park.

Years ago I hated it even worse, when I had the old Volvo Wagon. Manual transmission and Manual (not power) steering. That was a BIG pain, in more ways than one.

okay - well yes of course i can - and also on the left side of a one way street if pkg is allowed there. AND on a hill.

COMMENTARTY: Kyanimal - i agree with the SELECTRIC- BUT i think you were really turned on by the interchangeable balls !!
OZGUY - pretty sure hes used to backing into things !!
and MIKEY - well what can i say?? its Mikey - IF im gonna be parked someplace - i want him in the back seat....................

and on a hill - it can be parking up hill or down - because, after all, I can go both ways.

Oh, God...

I can't drive a stick shift, either...

Maybe I should start a new thread...

no... Last time I tried I think I did an 18 point turn and ended up facing the wrong way. I'll walk the extra 10 blocks thank you very much..... it beats having a heart attack from the mile of backed up cars honking at me

It is one fears, hell when the sun turns red and you say my name backwards things might change

I never had to parallel park. I did learn it when I was learning how to drive, but I think I've forgotten how to do so now.

Parallel parking is easy. I've always been able to do it without any problems no matter what size of vehicle I was driving. I also have no problems when parallel parking on a hill, whether facing uphill or down.

I use to be horrible at it, but then I had to start parallel parking 15-person crew vans in downtown Los Angeles. I think I have the hang of it now.

I don't feel comfortable doing it...Mostly because I always stick out so far away from the curb.

I actually am the kind of person who will walk an extra 5 blocks if it means finding a straight-in parking spot as opposed to a parallel parking spot....Even if I'm expecting to be hauling something.

i hate parallele parking
definitly would rather walk a few blocks
