Canadian landscaper admits eight murders [MERGED]

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

This has been in the news for quite some time. We've had a few serial killers in our history. When convicted, Bruce will become #20 identified and convicted. Two cases remain unsolved.

The most recent, I think, is Elizabeth Wettlauffer who worked as a nurse in senior care facilities. She was convicted of murdering 8 patients by lethal insulin injections and attempted the murder of 6 others. Paul Bernardo (a.k.a 'The Scarborough Rapist') is probably the best-known nationally and internationally.

looks like he had a thing for brown guys---sick fuck--

as much as I love Canada ---seems like a good quiet big place for a serial killer to fester:eek:

Yup, in the world's most diverse city.
My online friend Rob met this guy and didn't like him. But who'd expect a murderer?

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

For months the homo community complained to the police about these disappearances.

And they botched it.

It became another straw that broke the camel's back when it came to including uniformed police in Pride parades. There has been a HUGE loss of trust in the forces because of these murders.

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

In defence of the police, I've been frequenting Toronto's gay village, in one way or another, since 1985, and the number of transient suicides and drug overdoses was shocking. At it's peak there would be an incident a day, at least. Sad to say, it would be almost impossible to keep track of the guys that had gone missing. The snub from the Pride committee has less to do with missing gay men than it does with the take-over of the Pride Committee by the BLM movement.

Can't say i'm surprised, it almost happened to me in Canada as well.

Just pulling stats out of your ass?

I seriously doubt if what you are saying is true.

Because I lived there.

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

Canada or Australia is a perfect place for this sort of crime,
because everyone is independent and individuality and almost no nosy neighbors to spy on you ...
and a lot of people are living alone ... and so much freedom to do things by yourself.

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

There is nothing shocking about Canada having serial killers. They are surely a global phenomenon, and not new to the modern era.

People have a tendency conflate mass murderers with serial killers. Not the same.

Some hothead gets fired or near it, and he shoots up his office plus a spouse or neighbor or parent, and it's a mass murder.

A couple takes in boarders and kills them for theft, or jollies, and it's serial killing.

The US has a population ten times that of Canada, so it would be expected we'd have ten times the number of serial killers.

But, you add in the numbing and listlessness created from maple syrup and poutine, the Canadian numbers might be even lower.

On the other hand, they have the Quebecois, so maybe they have double per capita. It's really hard to second guess.

But it's JUB, so we can just make up shit about nations and regions, as usual.

Canadian Dahmer.

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

Where ever they are, it makes me wonder how many we don't know about.

More like Gacy. McArthur didn't dine on his victims. He just dismembered them. That story came out of a cannibal fetish forum in which a member (who lived here in Peterborough) was bragging in the forum about killing a Toronto man in 2012 and eating him. Police did a thorough investigation and putting him on 24-hour surveillance. They determined that he was not the man they were looking for. He was charged with number of sex-related charges.

Leads eventually turned police attention to McArthur.

Re: We expect it in America, but not Canada

^ The dismemberment was so he could bury them more easily. He was a landscaper and could bury them in garden pots.

That's even more wasteful. They don't make good fertilizer. He sounds dishonest. Some people don't care about their customers at all. But let's not open that can of worms again. JUB's always on the side of the downtrodden employee.

Re: Serial killer confessed to murdering gay men in Toronto

And you checked to be sure all the earlier absentees were on some Down Low registry?

Nope. But I couldn't help but noticed the article mentioning the previous victims were men of color and immigrants. I also couldn't help but notice the names. Oh yeah, and it just happens that they caught the guy right after the latest victim who happens to be white.
