Cancelled Shows

Desperate Housewives probably should have been cancelled a season before it was, but I still get sad that it's gone.
The Secret Circle was good wish it was still on. I miss GCB, too. I was sad when 24 was cancelled, but after about 5 years, it just came back on this week: I was REALLY excited about that.

I feel like Revenge on ABC may only last one more season, they seem to be running out of places to go with it. I'll miss that one, too--really is one of my favorite shows!

Yes, I really struggled with the final season. I didn't care about Gabrielle's stepfather, there was no suspense at all.
The last episode was OK (apart from not showing Edie as one of the ghosts from Wysteria Lane).
It's always better to end a series while it's still good.

I'm a little surprised, but then, not at all surprised, as it's been "will they or won't they cancel it" for awhile.

I was surprised it wasn't cancelled after Season 4 - that was just crap - but I thought Dan Harmon had turned it around in Season 5 so it came as a surprise that they would cancel it now.

:(

Hopefully, Netflix or Amazon will pick it up for the 'sixth season and a movie'. :)

The New Normal, thought it had a promising premise, then got cancelled! Two CW shows have been cancelled too, The Carrie Diaries and The Tomorrow People. I'm sad but oh well, whichever show makes the most money and sustain budgets!

I mean I want 6 seasons and a movie, but god its been terrible since series 3! It will be missed, but those early series will hopefully stand the test of time as being great.

It was a shame Freaks and Geeks got canned so early as it was enjoyable , but never as amazing as people make out now due to how big everyone in it became.
Deadwood and Farscape were both shows that deserved a decent send off, which I think both will get at some point.

Tron: Uprising
I loved it and I bought the soundtrack which was thankfully released

Stargate Atlantis
wish it had continued a few more years, great show, great cast

Star Wars the Clone Wars
just when it was getting a bit dark and edgy they drop it
too bad
bought the collector's edition complete series blu ray, awesome

Oh I just remembered Wolverine and the X-Men. The little preview for the second season looked good and then it was cancelled.

The Tomorrow People, Revolution, Believe, Carnival, The Dresden Files, Stargate and Stargate Atlantis and some version of Star Trek.

I will now add Surviving Jack, not because Chris Meloni is hot as hell, but because Dads had at least 20, if not more, episodes, and was NEVER funny, but Surviving Jack had only 7 and got the ax, and the first episode alone was funnier than all of Dads combined.

If I wasn't already sick of FOX, I would be now.

Community and Raising Hope were well past their prime. But had fantastic runs.

Everyone should watch re-runs of Happy Endings. It has pointedly unstereotypically gay character. It has a girl from SNL no one remembers. It has Damon Wayans Jr. It is quick and witty. It's like if Friends were in Chicago and had a black character and a gay character and was cancelled too early instead of running five years past its prime. It was cancelled last year. Cast members went to totally unfunny sitcoms with terrible writing on Fox, such as New Girl and The Mindy Project. It also features the sexy Damon Wayans Jr. He is funny. And sexy. VH1 had a marathon of it some months ago.

First season focuses a bit much on the failed relationship of its two lamest characters. Jack Bauer's daughter is not great at comedy, but gets better. Trust me. It's a quick three seasons you can get in on a rainy weekend easily.

Going way back here but Space Above and Beyond, Alphas, both versions of Being Human, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Farscape, BSG. Angel, Dollhouse, Firefly. I have more but cannot remember them all.

I was....quite a bit less than pleased Warehouse 13 ended the way it did - made little to no sense on the timing.

Torchwood: Not cancelled, just in a dormant state I hope.
The last two seasons were different and brilliant in their own way.
I don't know if this series could continue, they'd have to introduce new characters to work with the existing Torchwood crew.
They also have a bad habit of killing them off though, grrrr. They should have kept that blonde FBI staffer instead of that Rex character.

Merlin, even though I knew where it was going they didn't have to go there. Plus, that last season was terrible and I think Morgana was overused, bleh. Actually on second though, good riddance. Where in the world is Bradley James now?

Being Human UK, I think the series could have gone at least two more seasons with the new cast.
I enjoyed them immensely in their final season, plus the vamp character was hot and frequently shirtless. I wish we'd seen more backsides though. :)

Stargate Atlantis: The series I think was heading down a good path with what I thought was setting up new storylines only it got canned so what had been set up had to be scuttled away in favour of an endgame scenario which was rather un-convincing. I wish they hadn't ended the series the way they had ended it. They should have just kept it going where the characters were still in the Pegasus galaxy fighting the good fight... in the event that they would ever pick it up later in the future. Although I know that is now an improbability. The original writers/producers are planning a reboot and scraping everything about the series.

Star Trek Enterprise: I enjoyed the last season more so than the previous 3 seasons. Had it been in the hands of Manny Coto and the Reeves Stevenses' it probably would have seen a full 7 years run. The problem I had with the series is that Scott Bakula was a terrible choice for the Captain, I wish they'd had gone a little more wild with their choices. He was too nasally in voice and "EEEEEEEEEE". Still, plenty of shirtlessness on the series. BTW killing Tripp was a douche move!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles: FOX had to go and order more episodes than necessary, it ended up feeling like the second season was filled with padding, filler episodes. The way it concluded left something to explored... I would hope but this is highly unlikely.

Honourable Mentions:

Robin Hood BBC: I mainly enjoyed watching this series for the menfolk, the series itself was too kitsch and family friendly.
Had it been a more mature show with some darker occult elements it would have succeeded.
I hope some one at the BEEB will explore Robin Hood again and bring in those elements. I remember watching the original BBC Robin Hood, the one from the 70s or 80s. The one with Sean Connery's son, although he didn't take over until the second year I think.

*Hey Russel T. Davies, why not do a gay Robin Hood series. One where Robin and Sir. Guy are enemies/lovers. There'd be lots of nudity and general nakedness going on, not to mention big sweeping stories. :)

The X-Files: So admittedly, the series went down hill after Duchovny left.
I just wish that they had introduced Doggett and Reyes around season 6 so the audience would have accepted them stepping in and taking over.
Additionally, killing the lone gunmen was a dumb move as well. The series lives on in comic form.

I think this one has the possibility of coming back as a series, its been many years since it wrapped up. A series focused on Scully and Mulders child could be interesting, perhaps he gets abducted by some sinister force/group/etc. for nefarious means.

This leads me into...

Farscape: I miss seeing Ben Browder in tight leather pants. I miss the insane wacky storylines. I miss that puppet with the bushy moustache. Actually, I hear that this series might be coming back in a pilot movie. It'll feature Aryn and John's son in some capacity. Ben hasn't been in much of anything in awhile which is a damn shame.

Would've liked to see spartacus, partners, ringer, and dollhouse go longer. Angel also should've gone one more season just for a better ending.

the cancellation of emily owens,md a year ago made me sad. loved that show and its brilliant lead

Very sorry to see "The Neighbors" go. I really enjoyed that show, and thought they could have told a lot more stories. Maybe it will live on, online!
