Cancer update - 09-25-06

Really pleased to hear that things are moving forward..

I really admire your strength..stay strong my friend

I will continue to pray for you.

How did the meetings with your sisters go?

I'm glad things are moving along for you! I hope nothing else gets in your way! ^_^

My sisters are doing as well as can be expected with this type of news. They wanted to go to the hospital with me, but I had to explain that I will be isolated and that this is essentially just like my radiation treatments that I had for 5 weeks, but I did promise to call them as soon as it is over. The only concerns that the docs had was me driving, since I will have a tranquilizer in me so that I can tolerate the mask on my face and not moving for 2 hours, but when I told them that I do the bus they were fine with me travelling that way.

My best friend didn't take it quite so well. She did really good for about 1/2 an hour and then lost it. I gave her a big hug and was rubbing her back and kept telling her that it was going to be okay. She pulled away from me, mascara all down her face, and in between the sobs she tried to tell me that she was the one that was supposed to be saying that to me. I just told her that friends do that, they comfort the one needing the comfort at the time. All in all, everyone is doing pretty well, all things considered.

Thanks for all the support! You folks are the best......

I've been away from the boards for a few days. Thanks for your updates and my continued and eternal wishes for good luck with all your plans. As I said to you before, you're one in a million!

By the way - I'm really interested - what ARE your musical interests?

My musical interests are very eclectic, to say the least. I have Rap, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Big Band, disco, standards, country, comtemporary christian, classical, metal, oldies, motown, easy listening, etc.... Approximately 7,000 songs on my computer.

That's not eclectic - that's enormous!

Not really. There was a time, prior to my house fire, that I had nearly 2,000 albums (yup, vinyl). I love music and use it to set my mood. I can be very blue, but with the right mix of music I can swing that around to being happy again. I also use it to motivate me for cleaning, doing artwork, sleeping, making love (although that mix has not had ANY use in some time), I have used it a great deal lately to just keep my attitude and outlook positive and healthy.

Right now I am listening to a road trip mix I made, only because I want to go out tonight but I am in Massachusetts and my car left for Connecticut on a two dolly without me. My brother in law thinks he can have it fixed for me prior to the coming weekend. He is such a good man, and I just love both my brother in laws and my sisters. They have been rocks through all of this and have tried to understnad my point of view of what and how to handle all of this.

Also, I must apoligize for the typing. I started some new meds in prepreration for my procedure on Monday and the anti siezure meds make coorditnation just a little difficult.
