Does anyone here get canker sores on their tongue? It's painful but it usually goes away by itself. Does anyone know a way to make it heal faster?

i just throw a ton of orajel on them or other types of canker numbing medicine. Canker's suck i must say

also.....rinsing your mouth with warm water and salt helps clear them faster

I moisten a finger, then pour salt on it, causing the salt to stick to my finger. Then I put the salt directly on the canker sore. It hurts like hell! I do this twice a day, and it usually gets rid of the canker sore in a day or two.

Yes, salt helps..but also, honey helps. Infact, honey will get rid of it in several days.

There are tons of remedy on canker sores..but the best is you should go to the store and buy the medication specifically for canker sores.

It's called Canker Cover (or similar products) and it is a gel patch that comes in form of a tablet that you place on the infection area. The gel patch covers and provide protection and healing for approximately 24 hours.

You can eat with it, and do whatever with it. Its kinda a little uncomfortable just because you can feel its there and costs like several bucks a bucks of 6 patches or something.

This is what I've been using the last year. It's like pressing an M&M inside your mouth and having it stay there for awhile... kind of uncomfortable and awkward, but it provides near instant relief if the sore is painful.

I wish they'd find out what causes these sores because no one really seems to be 100% sure.

I saw a commercial last year for a prescription creme you could get - although I really doubt if that's worth it as some of these cheap storebought remedies actually don't seem to be all that bad.

They say that a good amount of vitamin c should help. A Chinese remedy I always used as a kid was powdered watermelon seeds. They came in a small spray bottle and you puffed it onto the canker sore.

It stung like a bitch, but it felt better later.

Just plenty of rest (at appropriate hours) and healthy diet to expediate the healing process.

I've read that the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in almost all toothpastes is a culprit in the frequency in canker sores, so I've switched to a natural toothpaste without it. Don't get them as often anymore, but have one right now. Don't know if it happened by chance, but I was staying at a friend's house for a few days and used his toothpaste and just happened to get one right away.

A mixture of liquid allergy medication and milk of magnesia used as an oral rinse usually helps me...At least, it did when I used to use it as a remedy.

It pretty much numbs the mouth, but particularly the cankers. Just remember, swish and spit with this one, don't swallow.

I get them from time to time and as a saxophone player, I've tried many many remedies... The only one that works every time for me is the one that thermodynamics mentioned. It does hurt like hell, but only for a little while, and the salt kills any infection going on.
