Hey guys, I'm 31 and have trouble keeping an erection. Most of the time I only get hard just a minute or so before I cum. i've been to my doctor and he said everything is fine. I've tried the pills, nothing works. Anyone have any suggestions? Please?

It could be your eating habits. Lots of caffeine can effect erections in some men. Many other factors. Many JUB members that have stopped smoking will tell you they now have a better erection.

I wouldn't settle for what your doctor said.

There's lots of medical problems that can cause this, even depression. I suggest finding a doctor that will take this problem seriously.

Have you always had this problem or is it something new?

I was having a problem in the same area because of some medication I was taking. Once I switched to something else, I was good to go.

You might want to try a cock ring or strap. They are also very sexy and fun too.

Hope you find your answer soon. Take care.

Since you say "my doctor," I assume you mean your regular physician, not a specialist. Doctors don't all agree on these things, so you might want to consult a specialist. A urologist could come up with a different answer. Your doctor can probably recommend a urologist in your area.

ED (erectile dysfunction) can also be affected by caffeine or alcohol, or can have other causes your doctor might not have thought of. And of course there's always an emotional component.

You're only 31, so I feel sure you can solve this problem. Good luck! ..|

Make an appointment to see a urologist. If he determines there is nothing physically wrong, then see a psychiatrist. Psychiatrist are medical doctor who can probe psychological problems and prescribe medicine to correct them.

Some factors that can cause problems: Caffiene, alcohol, various recreational drugs, stress, depression, High Blood Pressure, medications taken for HBP, depression, Diabetes, other medical conditions. There are some psychological problems that can be so intense underneath that cause the problem too.

Doc said things were ok, but if a GP may be only looking at the major problem areas and you may have something more subtle going on. Checking with a urologist would be a good idea, especially if you have tried Viagra or Cialis and not had any success.

Needs further investigation, so do yourself a favor, go get it done. At 31 you shouldn't be having this much of a problem for as long as you have.

Most ED problems are caused by Emotional problems ... then.. by food, drinks, and medicines etc ... so there are many variables to consider . You did not mention if you were going thru any type of emotional situations in the past several months ....
Like has been said , a specialist is the best way to go . He will be able to determine if it is physical or mental .. and .. go from there . Good Luck ...

I wouldn't accept the dismissive response of your doctor. Try him again, in case he didn't understand what your concerns were or try another one.

I'm lucky in that I can go directly to a specialist without needing to get a referral from another doctor. If that is true for you as well, then see if you can make an appointment with an urologist.

I always go to the clinic associated with the university and get an intern that has to present his findings to the head doctor. There is a lot of transparency that way and making sure that I understand what those findings are is an important part of their process.

When I'm feeling down I can never get stiff because I'm not in the mood to. It also depends on what you're thinking. When I think about girls I can only get it up for about a minute or two then it flops out. But when I see a guy who's really cute, then I can get hard easily without touching my dick.

So jte_nc2000, under what situation were you trying to get hard in? If you were going to do "it", performance tension could have an impact. I'm 25 and still a virgin so I don't know what doing it for real is like. The only sex experience I've had were the flings in high school with other guys in the change rooms.

jte: You've done the right thing (sought a physician) However, it would appear your physician is either sorely lacking in training or simply incompetent! Time for a second opinion. Your first physician should not simply dismiss this situation, he/she should have offered you some options, suggested a specialist or list of specialists to help you. The guys are right..... don't stop now, seek another opinion.

I forgot to mention one key thing. Do you have erections in the middle of the night while sleeping? Do you wake up with a hard on?

If you can have an erection at night by nature and then have problems at other times, a psychological factor may be present.

I agree with the other posts. See a specialist.
