Can't load web pages but torrents work

Hi,
All of a sudden I can't load web pages on any browser but my torrents are still working. I can't update Malwarebytes Antimalware - I guess it can't connect. Any ideas? I'm really stumped.

BTW, I ran Malwarebytes and AVG but go no infections.

sounds like you are having a dns problem.
are you directly connected to a modem or do you use a router?

I use a router and I haven't changed any settings. I ran a ping test and I get a consistent reply. Something is preventing programs from accessing the net although Utorrent works.

That's the ip for the Yahoo homepage.

since the question is whether his dns lookups work .. pinging an IP is not really helping ..
since his torrent client is transmitting data, he can connect to IPs.

IF he CAN reach the Yahoo page vi the IP then it IS a DNS issue for SURE.
Until then how can he know?
I've been using open dns for some time to avoid url spoofing.

If you have a router, then try connecting a network cable from the router to your computer and try logging in via the LAN network rather than wirelessly.

Assuming that works, you might need to reset your connection to the router. Ask your service provider to help you with the procedure.
