Car Crash TV........Kill It Off.

Here a morning show somewhat like Springer has been pulled off air after one of the guest on an as yet to be aired show killed themselves, seems he was found to be cheating on his girlfriend/wife via a lie detector test, the whole show The Jeremy Kyle Show is the worst kind of tv going, uneducated yokels being thrown into a bear pit and patronized and goaded by a sneering host with all the empathy of a breeze block, are these sort of shows still running in America etc ?

I think there are a lot of fake reality TV talk shows that basically tantalize bored unemployed folks at home during the day. Haven't seen them at night, but I rarely watch much other than science and public television stuff.

Most are ripoffs of the TV fight talk shows with folks just barely trashier than the viewers who are watching.

I didn't know it had been canceled, though i hadn't seen it on any channel over here in about 5 years.

Wasn't there a case some years ago in America where a talk/fight show participant committed a murder after some revelation on the programme? I think the presenter was a woman (it wasn't Oprah) who strutted around like the great boss lady in charge of everything during the show, then when murder happened she said oh no, nothing to do with me, I'm only the presenter, I'm not responsible. Does anyone remember that?

Unfortunately if you want to watch good TV you either have to stay up late or pay for it.

Here in France a sample evening’s programming consists of:

Reality shows.
Real crime reconstructions.
Political discussions.
Series repeated from the previous week.
Films every one has already seen numerous times on the TV.
Cooking programs.
Home redecorating.

For all this I pay 42 € a month for crap TV, a telephone line I don’t use and my Internet connection.

I will not sit idly by and hear our noble army of benefit scroungers traduced in this fashion. They make a valuable contribution to the economy and are cheap to run. The tax and customs duty on booze and tobacco is astronomical, and there is also Value Added Tax on junk food so by spending all their benefit payments on cigareets an' whusky an' maybe not wild wild women but certainly pizzas and kebabs, they are giving most of the money back to the government. Also, the Department for Social Security which administers the system is a huge employer so the "clients" as they are officially referred to are helping to keep a lot of other people off the streets. The unemployed are a Good Thing.
