Cargo Shorts: In or out?

For the most part, they are out. Shorts should NOT pass the knees. I do have some cargo shorts but I only wear them if I am going on a day outing and need places to store stuff (keys, cellphone, wallet, glasses etc) and not need a bag.

I am wearing a pair right now, so that usually means they are out of style

I was going to type mostly the same thing(except i'm not wearing mine).

I realize nearly nothing I wear is in style anyway, so that has never been a factor.

Mine are below the knee. They don't touch the ground or my socks(because I have these things called PANTS), so, you know, suck it shorts purists. :)

I like 'em. A lot.

Of course that probably means they're hideously out of style...

I saw a guy walking out of Target today wearing some cargo shorts. He looked cute, but earlier in the week I had thought about ditching mine. I'm not sure why wearing saddle bags on our thighs looks kind of hot.

Thoughts?

You’d probably have thought him “cute” no matter what type of shorts he was wearing... and why is it so important what other people think is in or out?

I couldn't care less whether they were in or out. They have large pockets. I like large pockets.

You can stuff several sausages there.

I'm wearing my non-cargo Carhartt khaki shorts. With cat fur, unfortunately, since my dear cat Homer is currently in my lap napping.

I love cargo shorts. Love large side pockets...especially for carrying snacks when going for a short hike.

Enough with the baggy look. It's time to bring back the daisy dukes!

I've never cared for cargo shorts (or pants, for that matter). I think they look sloppy. If I have to carry more than my pockets will hold, I bring a bag with me.

They were never out in my opinion. I live in Southern California and it's common.

I am over age 50 and really do not care if what I wear are out of style or not. I like the utilitarian features these shorts have.
