Catastrophe on the bridge..

The Tappan Zee connects Westchester and Rockland Countys over the Hudson. They are building a new span along side the old structure. Today a crane collapsed onto the old bridge closing it in both directions. It's going to be a long commute home for millions of people.

I've only been to NYC once -- and I have no idea how that bridge compares with the GWB -- but YIKES!!!

I'm SURE that traffic will be a COMPLETE MESS!!!

I wonder if your neighboring governor can lend his expertise in traffic control...

What is trhe GWB? I wish people woudn't use local abbreviations in a message that is going worldwide! It takes only a few seconds to write out what an abbreviation stands for, if it is likely not to be universally understood.

It's amazing that the old TZB (Tappan Zee Bridge) didn't buckle from the force of the crane falling on it. Thank goodness no one was killed and the road was closed for 5 hours, the residual backups were felt all across the TSA (tri state area, NY, NJ, CT).
