Chapter 19
Calvin's POV
"Alright class, I've decided to give you guys a group project. I will split you into pairs and then assign you a country that you will then do a presentation for in the class." my geography professor announced at the top of the class. Great, I thought, I hate group projects. Everyone always flakes out on me so that I'm stuck doing all of the work. Ijust hope that I get somebody willing to pull their full share.
"The groups are as followed: Tiffany Mason and Jeff Sears, Whitney Mills and Jessica Jones, Amber Thompson and Avery Pullman, Calvin Williams and Eric Grant..." I didn't pay attention to the rest. I was both happy and nervous that I got Eric as my partner. From what I talked to Eric he seemed like a good guy so I figured he'd pull his own weight but I was nervous because of what I felt the other day when he saved me from the cameras. He looked over and smiled so I smiled back.
I decided that I should text Scott, I hadn't talked to him since he dropped me off last night.
-Group projects...yay
-Have fun with that lol how was your morning?
-About that...I'll call you after class
-Oh that bad huh? Ok I'll talk to you then
I look back up and the teacher just finished giving out the countries, Eric was leaning across the aisle to talk to me about the project. "Sorry I wasn't paying attention, what country did we get?" I asked
"France" he replied. I was happy it was an easy one "shouldn't be too hard"
"No I don't think so either." I replied. We exchanged contact information and agreed to meet at his place later tonight to get started. The professor then dismissed the class. Looks Scott wouldn't have to wait long for that phone call. I called him as I walked back to my building.
"Hey babe" he answered "Wasn't expecting your call for awhile."
"Yeah we got out early after our groups were assigned."
"So about this morning of yours..."
"Well I was met with about a dozen photographers and their cameras when I walked outside today." I said
"Oh my gosh Cal! I'm so sorry about that." he replied, sounding sincere and concerned
"Yeah they took me by surprise at first, good thing I looked good this morning."
"You always look good" he replied with a little laugh
"You're my boyfriend so you have to say that." I reply chuckling, he is so cheesy sometimes.
"I might have to say it but not mean it and, babe, I really mean it."
"Anyways" I transition with a laugh "I was standing there with a deer in the headlights look and couldn't move. This guy from my building came up and led me through the cameras."
"Did you know this guy?" he asked, the laughter from before was gone from his voice.
"I'd seen him around. Funny story, he's actually in the class I just got out of and he was assigned as my group partner."
"Cool. So do you think he's attractive?" Scott said, revealing a hint of jealousy.
"He's alright. You're much better looking." I reply.
"Ok" is all Scott said back
"Scott Ashmore, are you jealous?" I asked with a slight chuckle
"No I'm not jealous. Just...concerned about what this guy's intentions are with you."
"You have nothing to worry about Scott, you know that right?" I asked, trying to reassure him.
"Yeah...I know" he replied
"Well I have to go. I love you."
"Love you too" he replied and then we hung up the phone.
I hadn't lied to Scott because he really doesn't have anything to worry about. Sure, I thought Eric was attractive and I might even have a little crush on him. But guys in relationships can still get crushes and it's not cheating. Everybody gets crushes. As that one song says "Its just a little crush".
I went to Eric's place at 7:30 that night. He lives in a small one bedroom apartment. We started off just doing random small talk before we dove into the project.
"So France" he said
"Oui" I reply, Eric chuckled
"Parlez-vous Francais?" he asked with a huge smile. The way he spoke french just added to his attractiveness
"No" I laughed "I just know some words and phrases."
"Ah that sucks, I thought we could give our presentation in French." he replied
The rest of the night we just talked about things to put in our presentation. We laughed and it seems Eric always had this cute little smile on his face. We started to wrap things up and I wanted to hit the bathroom before I left.
"Do you mind if I use your bathroom?" I asked
"Not at all. It's the door straight down the hallway." he replied. As I was walking down the hall, I could feel his eyes on me. Great, I thought, he was checking me out. I need to mention something about Scott so its clear there is a boyfriend.
"You know I was just thinking" I replied coming back to the table "Scott has been to Paris, he probably has some great pictures we can use for the slideshow."
"Oh...yeah that would be cool." Eric replied, his smile faded. After a little while we called it a night and I headed home. Crushes didn't last forever and maybe this one would just work its course and be gone. Maybe it only formed because he saved me in a time of need. Who knows why crushes form. As long as this one ran its course. I really hope that Eric and I could be friends.

Eric's POV
I was ecstatic that me and Calvin were assigned to be group partners. This is the chance I wanted to get close with him. We decided to meet up later that night at my place. I had to hurry up and clean my apartment since it looked like a pig sty.
At around 7:30 Calvin came over. At first we just shot the breeze but then we started talking about the project. I feel like the whole night I had this stupid grin on my face. I couldn't help it. Calvin is really good looking and so funny that he just made me smile the whole night. For a while I almost forgot that Calvin was in a relationship. However, at the end of the night I was quickly reminded. Coming back from the bathroom mentioned that his boyfriend, I think his name was Scott, could give us cool pictures from Paris. I could feel my smile slide right off my face. Hopefully this little crush would eventually go away because if Calvin couldn't be mine, I would still like to be friends with him. Calvin left shortly after that and I called it a night.
