It appears that several members of the 85% have joined forces and are attempting a coup to run conservatives/moderates off CE+P.
Please don't let them do it.
CE+P will die without opposing views.
Members have left or been banned because of harassment and unkind treatment from the left wing wacko's on CE+P.
srsly springer?
You get caught out in your lying/misleading titled thread about wiretapping by the DoJ....and then you decide that your input to this thread is going to be bitching and moaning because a few Jubbers are on a short vacation? I don't recall you being any too upset when the liberals/moderates have been put in the penalty box or have left in a fit of pique because of the harassment and unkind treatment from right wing wackos (nb. plural non possessive) on CE&P.
You know the funniest thing...I have a number of friends who are conservatives and we can have some really spirited discussions about issues and the role and responsibilities of the collective versus the individual. As someone who has voted for Conservative, liberal, New Democrat and Green Party I can appreciate and enjoy the range of opinion and perspective that people bring to an issue.
But there's something different that happens here... where even a few years ago...in the run-up to the 2008 US election season, the level of personal invective and partisan rage has made having civil discussions almost impossible. It has only been in the last year that for the most part, a lot of the really juvenile name calling, inspired by the nasty cable news and radio pundits, has decreased to a reasonable level on JUB.
There is no coup. There is no running people off. There is no desire to turn CE&P into a left wing echo chamber. Really. There actually has been criticism from the liberals here about the way that the Executive branch has handled a number of issues. But it isn't the baying for blood that the rabid partisan Republicans want. Honest to Pete. I don't get people like you at all most days. I don't particularly care for our current Conservative Prime Minister or the way he handles certain issues. But I have a lot of respect for the things that he and his government do well and don't see half the country trying to tear him down 24 hours per day because they didn't vote for him.
Frankly, I think that you and few other Republican supporters and reactionary conservatives need to get some perspective as well on the big picture of governing the US. CE&P does not thrive with baiting threads or dishonest threads. It does not thrive when everyone turns up armed to the teeth with intractable positions based on Red or Blue allegiance. It does not thrive with borderline racism or indefensible positions on immigration being stated and restated.
Above, I mentioned that I can and do have very spirited discussions with my friends on the Conservative end of the political spectrum. I also have spirited disagreements on issues and approaches with my liberal colleagues and friends....it is ridiculous for you to imagine that if the extremist partisan voices are trying to outshout everyone else in the room that there are no opposing views to explore and discuss. It is just that it becomes possible to do it without hysterics and histrionics and to often get much deeper into the heart of an issue and argument. I've even seen it here.
