I have known that for a very long time, but I didn't expect to see an airport in his front yard.

We drive by Opera's often as it's in our county about 45 min's away.

But one that has us in awe-- Is CHER's
in Malibu on Pch hwy. It is just huge and beautifull.

Those mansions are a bit too big for me, though Seinfelds home in the Hamptons is nice. I like more modest mansions. Or rather a Fifth Avenue penthouse, than I don't have to worry about keeping up a lawn.

I always wonder what do they need all that room for. The average American home is big enough for a family of 4 with all the amenities of modern life...

I know, but there are different types of status symbols. Some people go overboard with it and build so many extensions onto their house that it starts to look overdone.

Maybe it's just my taste though.

With the exception of the 3 contemporary residences and Seinfeld's Hamptons house they all look like very bloated combinations of various McMansion parts, not well proportioned nor executed in any discernable style (unless McGrandiose ostentatious is now a style). Travolta’s place has all the charm and look of a cheesy ‘60s motel, but then that is still better than any scientologist deserves.

Louis XIV might find them quaint

There is an actor (I really wish I could remember his name) who bought a small 2 or 3 bedroom bungalow many years ago before he became famous. He is now very famous and very rich and he still owns and lives in that little bungalow. His celebrity friends tease him about it but he simply tells them he doesn't need anything bigger. Anything bigger would be a waste.

Very sensible man indeed.
