Celine Dion covers Adele

Celine recently covered Adele's Rolling in the Deep in concert in Las Vegas. I thought she did an incredible job and wanted to share the video. Obviously the quality is a bit low as someone in the audience was recording this.


Gotta love Celine's voice. :mrgreen:

Sorry, I always cringe when someone tries to sing one of Adele's songs or even do a remix of one. I always feel like it's to mess with perfection: nothing good will come out of it, it will always be a comparison and a weak one. Okay, sorry - I am too biased, I realize that. I just have such a big admiration and respect for Adele.

The problem when divas like Celine try to cover other people's songs is that they have the voice, but they usually don't have the soul for it. You can't really feel the emotion that Adele has in her songs in Celine's cover. INB4 "making it her own". The most notorious example I can think of is Barbara covering "Send in the Clowns". It comes off as far too saccharine for a song about unrequited love.

Celine fans - help me :D

Any Celine Dion fans out there?

Please help! I've finally begun to take an interest to her music. Actually more to her VOICE because I find it amazing. I finally watched her special that was aired on Oprah's OWN a while back. Loved it.

I wish to buy some of her CDs, but I don't know which ones I should buy. I'm going to the music store this weekend and will probably have enough for 2 Celine CDs. I like owning a CD as opposed to just buying music online. I already bought my sister A New Day Has Come a while back for her birthday so I don't need that one.

So which CDs would you recommend? I'm not into her French stuff by the way (well not right now). Suggestions?

Falling Into You and The Colour of My Love and All The Way... a decade of song, they are your best choices :)

Then I'd go for One Heart, Let's Talk About Love, Taking Chances and Miracle. < miracle is a more boring album. The final albums i'd get if you want them all are Unison and Celine Dion.

All The Way is a great starter album, the essential hits. Falling Into You is probably my favorite album though.

"My Heart Will Go On" still gives me chills. I favor "To Love You More" and her cover of "All By Myself" as well.

Immortality is my favourite Celine Dion song. I miss the era of power ballads and the divas who delivered them impeccably, such as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, to name but a few.

I have to say "Because you Loved Me" is a great song of Celine's. I saw her in concert and she is an incredible performer and vocalist.
