Has anyone been sent an email by JUB censoring their comments? I find it ironic that because of freedom of speech/expression has allowed site likes JUB to exist to feel they need to censor/warn people isn't that sorta hypocritical?

Depends on the content of what you said. I'm a pretty liberal person but I understand the need for boundaries.

I did receive a PM about something else, wich I find a bit extreme and ridiculous to be honest but whatever...

Well like I said something to be funny and it was taken so literally. I mean if people cannot joke around then things become boring.

i dont get the no frontal nudity on hot topics deal WT to the F! it's in the adds and on avatars and siggys, but we still cunt post a pipi?

For example, this guy posts saying he wants to see pictures of dead people from some plane crash so I write: "you sick bastard" as a joke and I get a warning!

If that's a joke in your book, I don't know if it's me who has to get a sense of humor...

Freedom of speech is a great concept. But that's for the public. Guess what? This isn't the public. It's a private domain. It's owned, run and paid for by private folks. That means this is their playground, and they just let us play in it. Because of that, they're allowed to make any and all rules that they'd like. If you don't like the rules, you can either set about chainging them, or you can find yourself another playground to play in. Personally, I've never had a problem abiding by these oh-so-difficult rules in 20,000 plus posts. Some would say that's because I don't ever say anything of worth, but hey.

from the coc:

9. Please do not harass, threaten, stalk, spam, or otherwise abuse other users.
i'm just guessing...

Well I guess you really follow the rules. I don't know how much fun people can have if they always have to watch what they say and try to interpret if it will be taken the wrong way when it was not meant to be. It really takes the fun out of things I think.

I guess that is what the code of conduct they say I was breaking but if a post is asking for "crash victim's pictures" it is probably not serious so why should the responses be taken so seriously? UGH

It may be owned, however, it's the people in here that make this place what it is. Without the people it would be nothing. I don't agree with that whole "Respect the authority, do as they say or gtfo" mentality...a bit too fascist for my taste. There are rules, wich is fine, but those rules, just like everything else can be debatable and discussed. Why not? Everything is questionable.

Exactly! I agree with you 100% I mean to disregard us users as disposible when we have contributed to the success of this site is disappointing to say the least. The content on the forum is because of contributions like ourselves and then to make comments such as it is a private site and basically disregard/censor our comments is insulting.

Well,I for one think you have had lots of value to say here ,whether funny, sarcastic or plain good common sense.

You're spot on regarding the freedom of speech confusion.A private organization is fully within its rights to set standards. You don't have to be a member here if you don't like the code of conduct.Especially in a thriving, vastly successful site as JUB...there has to be some guideline to keeping things civil and respectful and running smoothly. The rules aren't hard to follow.Don't personalize things, don't act in a manner detrimental to others here,or detrimental to the site. But lots can be said between those white lines.

Well I understand guidelines but there is grey between black and white.

I assume you have a home, and I assume you have rules for your visitors. If they break those rules, you let them know.

It's the same thing here. You are in someone's 'home' as an uninvited guest. The rules are posted at the door.

It's really quite simple.

you were bad and they spanked you

take it from me it's fun when they spank me....and it's been a few times already.:D

jamesdude: let's change this to racist.

and concerning the op:
he was not specifically asking for pictures of dead people
and telling someone (in the no flame zone) who is asking for advice with another person to "rape" this person is not funny.
