LOS ANGELES - It seems after nearly three years in the dark, and two years on the drawing board, and one year of constant rumor all over Charmed message boards, a spin off for the nearly failed show has been written. On May 2, 2008, television networks, ABC and FOX were given the written pilot which was written by Charmed alumni, Holly Marie Combs, who played Piper Halliwell.

The CW, television network has rejected the spin-off twice, and will no longer consider the possiblity of the show. "We already have a show similiar to what, Mrs. Combs has written, and its called Supernatural." Stated Dawn Ostroff, CW President.

Supernatural debuted in 2005, on the CW Network, and currently one of their more popular shows.

No details have been released on Combs' pilot of the new Charmed Spin off, but it seems ABC and FOX have both read the scripts and are in talks with her and her team.

It is possible that the show will air this fall around Halloween.

Charmed, 1998-2006, was a supernatural show about three sister witches and their batles with evil. It is currently running in syndication on TNT.

Quite enjoyed the early years of Chamed----but if this is the same crap they churned out for the last three years---nah, I'll pass.

You posted a very similiar thing like a year ago and insisted that you were somehow in negotiations for a spin off.

Holly Marie Combs has 0 writing experience so there shouldn't be any expectation that any spin off she make resemble the quality of the original. Plus she doesn't go by her maiden name any longer.

This just seems like a bunch of smoke.

I agree I greatly enjoyed the first few seasons with Prue. Very interesting dark themes.

I loved early Charmed, with Prue and then Paige. But the later seasons totally were underwhelming.

They actually got pretty trashy and the effects were blech--overkill.

If it has the style and subtlety of the earlier seasons, I'm in.

I disagree. I liked the latter seasons soo much better. I think the acting was better and the storylines were better. And I couldn't stand to watch Shannon Doughtery act. But I was not a fan of the finale.

But I would watch this show. Especially if it has the original actors.

I loved charmed in seasons 1-4, but the later seasons were too soapy and I felt like the main focus was put on the girl's bodies and clothes and hairstyle and stuff like that than the actualy storylines (which were pretty thin), I gave up after season 5 but caught a few episodes of series 6-8. It just felt too glitzy and there was no heart in it anymore. I do like how the show ended, though, I wish they'd gotten Shannen to be in the final episode.

Dunno how a spinoff would fare, especially if it were about the sons, I don't think I'd like it but if it were to be made I'd give it a chance.
