So I've been working out at the gym a bit lately, which is new to me, and I've seen some results and put up a few new photos on Scruff and Grindr.
I've been getting quite a few more guys messaging me than usual, and I'm finding it hard to keep up with them all, sorry if this sounds like bragging but I do have a point. I suffer from social anxiety so online dating works well for me, it gives me the oppotunity to break the ice, or at least crack it, before meeting someone for the first time, however this results in me feeling rude if I don't respond to someone. I've never had a problem ignoring guys who are rude or stalkery, and I'm pretty good at holding a conversation, since the new photos went up, and I'm evening wearing a shirt in them, I'm having quite a few guys open a conversation with comments like "hey spunk" or "how's it going handsome", or "sexy, you have beautiful eyes", receiving compliments is great and I know how to take one, but from a complete stranger I've never spoken to before? I state on my profile that I'm reserved with new people, I don't have the "NSA" or "Right Now" boxes checked, and I don't really know how to respond to these guys without seeming, and feeling disingenuous.
To me it seems like an inappropriate way to start a conversation, however well intentioned. What do you guys think?
