Tell me I'm not the only JUBber who just spent a gobsmacked 90 minutes watching an under-strength Chelsea defend against a hapless Barcelona and make the final against all odds?

What an incredible game! :dead: Anyone keen to bleat on excitedly about it for the next day or two?

Yes I watched. I feel exhausted and emotional right now. I'm a Barca fan.
Extraordinary game.

Yowsers, it had everything in it! What a spectacle. And... Torres? Seriously, Torres? Fuck. Ing. Hell. And jeebers, what on earth was Terry thinking?

Double whammy for me, though - Arsenal and Barca are my two; if Chelsea win the sodding thing we might not get a spot in next season's competition. Hoping Bayern a.) take Real to the cleaners tomorrow (Mourinho and Ramos irritate the living bejesus out of me); and b.) win again on the 19th of May.

It was a bad day for beautiful football.
Such is life!

They BEAT Barcelona?????? DAMN I now wish I had known it was on tonight.

Now I've gone and found out that they clinched it in extra time with an equaliser....

....I've GOT to watch highlights of this match somewhere. :p

Not that I'm actually a fan of Chelsea, but I loathe Barcelona. They just exude arrogance and privilege and feel they have a right to win every match they play. Oh, and they're probably the sorest losers on the continent. The mega-rich elite footballers will be throwing hissy fits tonight. :jasun:

(OK, I admit Chelsea are slightly similar, but nowhere near as bad)

Chelsea have been really inconsistent all season long, same like Arsenal. They got drilled over two legs and still win the tie - I cannot believe it. Barca must be wondering what has happened over the last 6 days.

Still hoping Bayern win it, but I also suspect it will be Mourinho's crowd. Fair play - they've had a good season.

I suppose Barca can't win everything all the time, and other teams are now learning how to counteract their playing style.

Im happy that Chelsea won, not a fan of Barcalona cause of all the referees playing with them and just love all the people crying now

Mourinho will win the CL again I think... like he did with Inter. Bayern is inconsistent away from home.

Also true, Bayern look a bit shoddy on the road. In addition, the Alliance Arena is not the fortress the old Munich Olympic Stadium was. Weird how Bayern just kinda fell out of top-tier football in the early 00s. 2 finals in 3 seasons ('99 against Man U and '01 against Valencia, who were at their 2nd final in consecutive seasons) and then they just quietly faded away, really.

I'd like to see what Mourinho could do with a smaller team. No major surprise winning in Portugal with Porto; he spent close to 400 million pounds to win the Premiership with Chelsea, and Inter have always been contenders in Italy with lots of money to spend; likewise with Real. I wonder what he could do with an Everton or a PSG or an Atletico - one of those teams who are above average but not Top 3 in their league and who don't have tons of money to burn. He's clearly good at what he does, but I'd be keen to see him have to work for it a bit more. Not saying that managing all those egos and getting them to work together properly is a breeze, of course; others have failed repeatedly with big teams. But I do wonder what it would be like if he had no megastars and no bottomless wallet to work with.

I know even without seeing the match that the ref will have done EVERYTHING humanly possible to gift Barcelona through. Referees at this level KNOW what is expected of them and who they are supposed to wave through and it means the effective end of a ref's high-profile career if he DARES allow the underdog through on fair play (just look at that the 2009 semi-final between these two teams if you don't believe me) - and indeed, lo and behold, I now read that the ref handed them a penalty (which Messi missed) and sent Terry off (made no difference) and they STILL couldn't win! :rotflmao:

OMG, at last, a case of the uber-top team wasting ALL the ref's attempts to throw them the match and then being unceremoniously dumped out in extra time! Bwaaaaahahahahaha! :rotflmao:

I know it was awful in 2009 its just frustrating. For example look at the 2nd penalty against AC Milan every match it would be just a new corner again but he just gives them a penalty.
Im happy its not Real Madrid - Barcalone in the final cause that would just get ruined by the referee like all other "El Classico's" and Im very happy that they cant win the ChampionsLeague anymore

Terry's red card was right though, it was just very very stupid

Yes it was indeed. True its going to be very hard for them as they miss Ramires and Meireles which are pretty good players

Terry of course how could I forget lol
Yes indeed it would be pretty easy, also think that they pretty much have no chance against Bayen Munchen but we'll have to see tomorrow who's going to be in the final :) cant wait

I fucking hate Chelsea (I am a Gunner) but I have to congratulate them.
Beating Barca is not easy feat, great match.
I agree that will be mission impossible beating Real Madrid, but I love football because it is always unpredictible, miracles can happen.
I think this year Chelsea was the underdog for the first time in many years, nobody was expecting them reaching the final, so everything can happen.

Lol Wouldn't it be funny if Chelsea after spending 100 zillion pounds in players and managers for the last 8 years, wins the Champions with a shit team and a virtually unknown and inexperienced manager like Roberto di Matteo (After having Maurinho, Ancelotti and Hiddink the best managers around)
Just to say that money do not buy always titles and silverware (although I don't think Abramovich will ever understand this concept)

We were robbed this season. 5 goals disallowed which cost us anywhere from 8-9 points... Show some respect. Milan is still the best team in Italy. Juve didn't even play in Europe this season.

And Juve is a team that has little experience in Europe.

Yes.....it's always the referees fault
Milan is too Ibrahimovic dependant.
For what I've seen, Juve is a better squad overall, it has no star players but they play as a team.

Should be an exciting game in Madrid tonight. Real might edge it.

Oh please. Juve is not the better team overall. We had too many injuries plus several clear goals disallowed. A goal that went over the line in three different games is in fact the referee's fault. Muntari's goal against Juve clearly went over the line. We should hae won that game.

If Boateng wasn't out so frequently things may have been different in several games.

Juve has minimal European experience... and they didn't even play in any European competition this season.

Oh and I could very well say Juve is Pirlo dependent... a 32 year old player... which should be a problem for them next season.

I was just pulling your legs Giancarlo, I love football banter, and I like guys who know their football ;)

You forgot to say that Arsenal won fuckall for the last 10 years, that would have been enough to shut me up
By the way your comments are the same excuses I hear from Arsene Wenger every bloody year.....just saying

Wow... penalties missed by Ronaldo and Messi and Kaka, the last 3 guys to win World Player of the Year, in the 2 semis.

Chelsea - Bayern. I wouldn't have picked those two to make the final were I putting money on it back in September...
