Cher/Madonna/Streisand (VOTE)

I just read a post by someone who said Cher can "sort of" act. If she can "sort of" act, then how did she win an Academy Award in the Best Actress category? Can you explain that one?

Cher does not suck live, DarkEmoBoi. Cher lipsynchs the verses of Believe because her tour staff do not have the equipment. If anything, Madonna sucks live. Cher is the GODDESS of Divas. Cher is a gay icon because she has been through so much that most gay guys can relate to. Heartbreak, reinventions, etc. Leave Cher alone.

My vote is for cher.we will still be doing bad cher impressions in 50 years.hopefully by then she will be finished with her final, final, final farewell tour.

madonna-i loved everything up til ray of light. theres been a few songs i liked after, but nothing to right home about.

Barbara- well the only songs i liked from her were all written by paul jabara(the main event, no more tears w/ donna summer)yes she can sing. i loved her disco phase. but honestly how many sappy ballads can one woman record? branch out. try something different.

I love Madonna's music, though both Cher and Streisand have fár better voices...

It has been shown in most polls that Madonna is the biggest idol in the gay community with the first #1 selling DISCO album since 1979. I personally cant decide if Cher or Madonna is better.. but streisand is good too. I have to say Madonna because Cher kinda sold herself out... after leaving the dance scene which brought her to where she is now... I love cher.. but when she cant reinvent herself like Madonna can... when she does she flops.

1979??? Madonna appeared only in the 80s.

Still, my vote? Madonna. No one does glamor the way she does.

I can't make up my mind!!!! :grrr:

Barbra is unique. One of the most talented souls ever.

Madonna is an undying powerhouse of reinvention who never ceases to amaze me.

And Cher... is Cher!!! Her looks and her voice are always there.

 Okay... Let's see.

If I have to pick one, that would be Barbra Streisand because she came first and she's still around.

WOW! This one was really hard!

I have a tremendous amount of respect for all 3 of them really. All of them are ferociously talented, outspoken, strong, glamorous and maverick: the requisite qualities that when mixed with longevity make an icon.

Streisand is definitely the true singer of trio, though I've never personally been a fan of her music or material. She is also a pretty solid actress. I've always been struck by Cher's...humaness. She has this grounded and engaging quality that makes you feel she is always being candid with you. I've always found it inspiring how she breaks the rules and does her own thing, yet no matter how out there she gets there is always feeling that there is a person there who you can connect to.

But of the three, it's Madonna for me. Not necessarily because she's "the best" - I mean who can really judge that - but because she's the one I've grown up with and who's music, of the three, that I can connect with most. I enjoy her sense of style, humor, and willingness to experiment and push buttons. I don't take her terribly seriously, but I do think she is FUN, if perhaps more of a performer than a singer. She like some rampaging B-movie monster that gorges itself on art, fashion & pop culture and then churns out something fresh and immediate. There something to be said for her accomplishing what she has by her own blood, sweat, tears, and moxie.

Of the three I like probably Cher the best followed by Streisand. Madonna's OK but Cher takes the nod.

Definitely Streisand. The others aren't even in the same class. Tho I do enjoy Cher a lot.
