Chicago Loses Bid for 2016 Olympic Games

Sorry, Charlie, but as an American, Chicago's loss is more pertinent to me than Rio's win.

That is exactly why I'm so pleased to see the games go to Rio!

Viva o espírito olímpico!

As a citizen of the world, I hope the winning host city realizes the Olympic ideal is more pertinent than where the games are located, and makes everyone welcome there for the games, including, of course Chicagoans, Madridians and Tokyoites.

But, if we must analyze this only from the American-disillusionment point of view, one thing that I don't think was mentioned is the fallout from Salt Lake City bribing their way to host their Olympics. I'm sure "spanking the states" for that mess played a role in the decision for these games.

Sorry, Charlie, but as an American, Chicago's loss is more pertinent to me than Rio's win. Further it's kind of a provocative title, is it not?
.

Sorry Charlie, as an Olympics fan I would have had the title being "Rio wins 2016 Olympcis" since it's more of a positive reaction and shows good sportsmanship to congratulate the winner of a world event. Oh and btw "Chicago loses bid for 2016 Olympic Games" is not a very provacative title at all.
