Chick-fil-a Can Bite Me

CFA has a LOT more to lose in this case, so I'll assume they're lying. They never expected this to blow up in their face the way it did. They'd done the hate group funding for years, so when their CEO blabbed his mouth about it now, he didn't expect that the "culture war" had escalated to the point where it would become the giant issue it did. CFA is in a desperate need to save face. Henson and co aren't.

Your probably right...I would suspect.

By the way, is there such a thing as a puppet that you can't put your hand/fingers in? Isn't that what makes it a puppet a puppet? Weird reason to remove the item. Gotta really watch the lawyers when you produce kids' toys.

You're slippin chrisrobin. I found this at your "Romney Campaign Takes Verbal Masturbation to a New High " link. It's good to see this and I hope other cities would do the same!

Chick-Fil-A No Longer Welcome in Chicago Neighborhood - National - The Atlantic Wire

Chick-Fil-A No Longer Welcome in Chicago Neighborhood

The latest wrinkle in Chick-fil-A's anti-gay marriage saga is taking place in Chicago, where an alderman has announced he will block the chain's efforts to build its second restaurant in the city because of the company's anti-gay stance. "You have the right to say what you want to say, but zoning is not a right," Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno said according to The Chicago Tribune's Hal Dardick. Dardick adds that Moreno, who has already blocked plans for a Wal-Mart in the past, is "relying on a rarely violated Chicago tradition known as aldermanic privilege, which dictates that City Council members defer to the opinion of the ward alderman on local issues."

--snip--

As NBC Chicago notes, Moreno's got Mayor Rahm Emanuel's backing as the mayor was quoted as saying, "Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values."

I'm glad they are supporting people getting their overdoses of sodium everyday.

Not.

Doesn't surprise me really lol.

At lease Rick isn't obese - then he'd really be unlikeable ;)

This story just appeared on the 10:00 news:

Chicago Alderman To Block Chick-fil-A Expansion

If I may paraphrase Mayor Emmanuel, "Chicago's values are not the same as Chik-Fil-A's values.

Apparently, there is going to be a "show of solidarity" on 8/1 where the wankers are going to dine at CFA downtown. I would go down there just to see how much "solidarity" there really is, but I have other fish to fry, so to speak.

Today was NOM's "eat bigoted chicken" day, and Joe was supposed to post pics of CFAs overcrowded with Christian love, but he hasn't done it yet.

And I would just love it if my new home goes on board with Boston ^_^

Here is a Georgia commentator's satirical piece in support of Cfa. What do you think?

Chick-fil-A deserves to be punished - The Red and Black : Opinion: jeremy dailey, chick-fil-a, dan cathy, gay marriage,

Furthermore, here is some food for thought:
What if a Christian mayor did not allow a gay-owned company for building in his community because the mayor did not agree with the company's gay marriage stance? How would that play?
I over-heard the manager of a restaurant ask that question to a customer today as they were bemoaning all of Cfa PR woes these days.

What, isn't that the history of the last century or so?

Hide faggot or we god fearing moralist will make you pay....

Please.

if you are gay and you make excuses for gay haters you are the problem.

There is a difference between stopping a business because you don't agree with their views of inclusion, and stopping a business because you don't agree with their views of exclusion. I wouldn't give a shit, personally, but morally I'd be against a business that discriminated against Christians too.

It doesn't wash. It predicates itself on the notion that all opinions are created equal and are equally valid. It puts whether or not to be bigoted against a group as equally valid "opinions." The analogy might make more sense if the Christian mayor was offended by the pro-gay company WHO WAS ALSO OPENLY AND VEHEMENTLY ANTI-CHRISTIAN. Then they MIGHT have a case.

In the real life scenario you have public servants who are objecting to bigotry, intolerance, and discrimination. In the "fantasy" false equivalency you have a Christian mayor who is taking a stand against equal marriage rights (more intolerance and bigotry) and calling the two things the same.

Now go back to that restaurant and give that douchebag a piece of your mind!

Then the Christian mayor would be wrong. End of story.

And the satirical piece is just nonsense.

Except here's the problem: if that restaurant has met all of the zoning requirements and has been approved by all of the necessary departments, but is then held up by an aldermen (as in Chicago), then it is clear the only reason for the denial is because of their views. That is not okay. There's a difference between a boycott and violating rights.

Then so is the aldermen, and the Mayor of Boston.

Their stance is admirable, but it is not supported by the law.

I asked you in the other topic as well - can you back this up? Because so far the mayor of Boston has just "encouraged" CFA to not build there, and has told them they aren't welcome. I see this as only symbolic, he isn't actually preventing them from moving to Boston.

Chick-Fil-A should just clutter up Oklahoma. Every county in that state, for the last two presidential elections, was red. Seems ideal.

Can someone explain for me ......

Chick-Fil-A's position on gays?

I know they are against gay marriage?
I read they gave money to anti gay hate groups - what kind of groups?

The owner may be anti gay but the workers ............ what about them? I would hate to think that innocent workers - who have families etc. could lose their jobs because the owner is a bigot

feels sorta Penn St. - esque potential

as in the current players and students could get hurt (are getting hurt) due to the actions of a few
