When is this hatred going to end?! Even if you privately are prejudiced against anyone, don't you think it's an idiotic business move to publicly come out as a bigot?!

Why is this hatred seen as a badge of honor by the religious sect?

Any kind of prejudice is an embarrassment and should be treated as such!

So screw you Chick-fil-a! Even after you drag yourself out of your primordial soup of hatred and change your mind, I still won't eat at your ignorant establishment!!

As a new contributor to this forum, TheButchQueen, it would be helpful if you'd provide a source or citation of interest that readers can go to in responding to your points. Here's an example of what you're talking about:

Chick-fil-A's anti-gay-marriage stance triggers online uproar - latimes.com
Chick-fil-A is “very much supportive of the family,” Dan Cathy, president of the popular fast-food chain, said in an interview with Baptist Press. That is, “the biblical definition of the family unit,” he said.

According to the Christian Post, Cathy went further during an interview on "The Ken Coleman Show," saying, "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.' " Cathy was also quoted as saying during the interview, "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

The company appears to be doubling-down on its discriminating stance. I agree this makes them more reprehensible. Gay bashing isn't popular anymore for U.S. companies, and it's just revoting to see remnants of bigotry still rear its ugly every once in awhile to express it.

It is both amusing and tragic that people who support "the biblical view of marriage" can't seem to bring themselves to support the biblical view of how to treat their neighbor.

So how does the chicken taste now fans?

It is both amusing and tragic that people who support "the biblical view of marriage" can't seem to bring themselves to support the biblical view of how to treat their neighbor.

Many (especially) Protestant religious denominations during the Civil War were very supportive of slavery, insisting that it was the natural order of man as well as the will of God. After all, passage after passage in the bible promotes slavery, even to the point of explaining how to obtain slaves, how hard you may beat them, and when it is okay to rape them. All god-fearing people owned slaves, of course, or wished they did.

After the war, somehow, these same denominations decided that God now wanted them to ignore those parts of the bible that were no longer politically correct. Indeed, God led them to the realization that they had actually been opposed to slavery since long before the war; they just hadn't realized how supportive they had been of their Negro brothers when they were beating and raping them.

Gay rights will follow the same trajectory. When anti-gay bigotry becomes politically unacceptable, men like Dan Cathy will decide not only that supporting gay rights was God's will, but that they had actually been enormously supportive of us all along, without quite realizing it. They will appreciate that their gay bashing wasn't really gay bashing all along - they had been gay rights leaders without realizing it!

Then, the Dan Cathys of the world will regale us with tales of how wonderful they had been to us, back in the days when everyone else was spewing hatred and intolerance. Such is the glory of God, that He leads the faithful to righteousness in retrospect, even when they thought they had been bashing our heads in with baseball bats.

But, until that time comes, you won't find me eating their holy chicken.

I can't imagine that their food wouldn't stick in my throat.

I would eat shit before I ever wolfed down one of their hate saturated entrees.

The definition of marriage has always evolved. Wasn't that long ago that it was a felony for people of different races to marry.

I've never been in a Chick-fil-A and never will.

I never will either. And of course, the "family values" groups that are applauding Chick-Fil-A are the sames that call for boycotts against any company that dares to suggest gays and lesbians should be treated like everyone else.

Of course when people say they support marriage as described in the Bible, they just mean that they don't like gays. I sincerely doubt many of the Christian women opposed to gay marriage would be okay with their husband taking a concubine. Nor would their husbands be too thrilled about having to take on their sister-in-law should their brother die.

Quote For Truth!

Maybe the CEO of Chick A Filet can enlighten us:

Did Jesus Eat Chick-fil-A at the Last Supper?

In another interview, Mr. Cathy said that "we are inviting God's judgment on our nation" when it comes to gay marriage. My question here is: are gay people allowed to eat Chick-fil-A? The company gave millions to anti-gay causes last year, so do they want these heathens buying their sandwiches? Are there any biblical passages referring to quick service and homosexuality?

In the mean time there is an alternative for those queers who just can't be another day without a Chick A Filet sandwich:

Chick-Fil-Gay Sandwich

I love this girl, and what's not to love she's a cook in Austin, Texas. :D

And they can't see to understand why there's such a curfluffle. ;)

You're new here, aren't you?

in Canada this is considered being nice ;)

as for Chick-fil-A I actually appreciate that the President was honest about his hateful point of view

it's refreshing and great when reasonable people hear from the jackass's mouth just how fucked up some can be

I wouldn't and I won't eat their shit and I can't imagine a gay man or woman doing so

You know what, darling? I didn't look at it that way until you said but you're completely right. I, too, appreciate when our enemies make themselves so clearly known and easy to spot. The ones who smile at us yet work behind the scenes for the very same outcome are the true horror shows.

Bravo...

I'm trying to take a philosophical approach to this whole thing. We've had other threads about the company and I've decided to let my wallet do the talking. I can surmise that we are not welcome in their restaurants, but they would take our money... but not mine. This is not to be confused with a boycott. It's just free enterprise at work. ..|

Clarification is always a good thing for those who doubt the opposition to Chick-Fil-A. This puts the entire issue into perspective. For one rare time, I actually agree with Chance here.

selective highlighting/bolding - to suit my needs

I'm on a semi-roll people

strike up the band

wait a second

is this good for my ........ brand? ;)
