  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Children drawings done realistically.

Unfortunately, the full project, titled "The Monster Engine", appears to no longer exist online.

I always think children, and anything correlated to them, are disturbing. They do not know limits and are capable of thinking and doing anything. There are some things in their mind that are rabid and vivid. The imaginations are often deadly creative.

But I love these images!!! Reminds me a lot to Coraline :D

Here's another link to a website containing the images anyway:

I love this. And what a great concept! I like the idea of tapping into a child's imagination and utilizing what you find. Children seem to live in their own reality or thoughts until they're forced to deal with more and more of what the world around them dictates that they think about.

I hate to say it, but it is a fake.

The drawing on the left was not done by a child.

That reminds me of this piece from MAD Magazine that I've always remembered at this time of year since I saw it way back in '63 (that probably says something bad about me).

MAD Magazine: If kids designed their own Xmas toys

(bigger scans and two more pages available at link)

My sister points out "The kid's drawings from Mad were also all by Jaffee. Note the variation in line quality. Kids rarely have several different sizes of technical pens to draw with".

Soft toys made from real children's drawings.

Cool pictures... ..|

In browsing the website -- I found this "related link" bizarre and a little disturbing that the kid got in trouble...

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/student-suspended-for-violent-drawing

A second-grader was suspended and forced to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing Jesus on a cross with X's over his eyes. Apparently the boy's teacher asked the children to sketch something that reminded them of Christmas and this is what he thought of.

I mean -- it IS the XMas season, after all...

:lol::lol::lol:

Is there a word that combines horrifying and interesting?

Interfying?

Horristing?

Take a pick, that about sums these up.
