Chinese magician's synchronised fish cause outrage

You mean like god-bothering, bible-bashing, gun-toting nutters for instance?

I've never figured out what "god-bothering" means. I figure all those people out there bashing gays, verbally or otherwise, both Him a lot.

I've never seen anyone bash a Bible, though I have seen someone literally smack someone else over the head with one. I suspect that bothered God.

I know quite a few people who tote guns, including a judge, a priest, a doctor, a dentist, a teacher, an electrician, a couple of attorneys... and me, who's been saved from violence more than once because of it.

Starwarrior, the Jews and Islamic people have ways to kill the animals instantly, so that it doesn't suffer. According to Islam, a prayer must then be said to the animal, thanking it for giving its life so that the man can eat.

As for that video of Chinese meat market?

I, being a real animal lover. wouldn't watch that video under any circumstances.

BTW, Star-Warrior I know there's a culture barrier, and all, but I've told my OH many times, that I will never visit the Orient (except maybe Japan), because I'm afraid of running into those meat markets by accident.

who cares about those traditions.
They are out of date and still want to control how each and everyone should live and behave.

belamo, I can't click on it, unless I know what it is. Seeing an animal being tortured would traumatize me.

I see that it's a .jpg, so I know it's a picture.

Somebody else will have to look first.

Telstra, you missed the point.

A point was implied that it is hypocritical to
  1. be concerned about the suffering of live animals
  2. while at the same time, use them as cuisine.

That idea simply isn't true. It is possible to kill animals with humanity and compassion, instead of skinning them alive, subjecting them to excruciating pain...

...like the video of the Chinese market that was posted.

making food (meat) beautiful with decorations such as in high class restaurants is not humane. It is basically arrogant. Beautiful food is arrogant food !!!

I prefer to eat nice humble food rather than arrogant food.

I meant your teacher's point, but you can forget about my question now...

I can't forget! I'm not a goldfish or something! SEEWHATIDIDTHERE??

I don't think he had a point actually, except perhaps to lighten the mood of a two-hour lecture. The Uni. I study at isn't exactly Ivy League- shit, they even let me in!
