^You are talking about Dunblane. This was a huge, and i mean a huge wake-up call, not only for Scotland, but for the entire UK. You are correct, in that the government rushed through new legislation within weeks of this atrocity. Which banned the ownership of not only side-arms, but also rifles from the hands of the public. With a few exceptions, farmers is an example. Though the "private" ownership of hand-guns is illegal.
