  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

On Topic Discussion Chipotle has to ask customers to no bring guns into stores.

Guns are stupid bullshit?

Guns aren't stupid bullshit............but the practically unrestricted access to them is. A responsible gun owner, would never in a million years, consider taking a exposed weapon into a public space simply to evoke shock and controversy.

And yes, the right to keep and bear arms supersedes rights of property: the former is inherent, and the latter quite artificial.

I'm pretty sure that your right to carry a weapon ends at my property line..

"patriotic rebellion against the States of California and Oregon" and would continue to "secede every Thursday until further notice."

Every Thursday.....................until further notice.....................#-o #-o #-o

Wake-up call... right.

Someone shoots people in a place where guns are forbidden, so they make more territory where guns are forbidden. It's kind of like telling people that when they go outside poorly clothed in winter and end up with a fever, to fight the fever by going out in just a bathing suit.

KULI, i purposefully made a point of stating that our attitude to firearms is different, in my first post. As for your comparison, truly
idiotic.

"Assault rifle" is a meaningless term -- or, rather, it means "a gun I find scary".
On the contrary. The term "assault weapon" technically means weapons such as sub-machine guns or full machine guns, weapons whose sole purpose is assault. They have lower accuracy and are intended for situations where "collateral damage" isn't an issue. In other words they are intended to take out multiple targets quickly with no concern for where "stray" rounds land. They have no place in civilian hands as they are of no use as either home defense (where a burs from the weapon will cause much damage to the defender's property as well as likely injure or kill innocents) or hunting (where the body of the animal will be too peppered with lead to make it viable for food or as a trophy).

If they were on their way to hunting, or shooting practice, or coming back from a gun show, I see no reason they shouldn't have taken their rifles inside with them. Leaving them in vehicles, unless they have locked storage, is more dangerous than carrying them personally.
Unloaded and locked in trunks or in locking gun racks in pickups would be suitable.

On the gripping hand, I feel sorry for anyone who gets uncomfortable when someone else is exercising a constitutional right.
The constitution does not even suggest the right to carry assault weapons and in fact, had they existed at the time, would likely have specifically spoken against them as they have no place in civilized communities. If someone really wants to carry such weapons they can join the military and head for the front lines where the weapons can be used for what they were designed for, to mow down the "enemy".

That video is unreal.

And the response from the NRA is real nice. I hope it makes these fools even look like bigger morons.
