I don't really drink mixed drinks--maybe a gin and tonic. Generally, I'm more of a scotch/rocks man myself. However, I was a bartender for a couple of years, and I learned a few drinks there.

Ordering an unusual drink is a great way to get a cute bartender's attention. After all, the bartender spends the whole night slinging beer and making complex drinks like "Jack & Coke" or "Vodka & Tonic"--let me tell you, it didn't take too long for me to learn those recipes. But if you order a slightly more complicated drink, the bartender will remember you fondly. Of course, you can take this too far--for God's sake don't make the bartender drag out a blender. That just makes you a burden.

Ever try a B-52? That's Kahlua, Grand Marnier, and Baileys--can be either a shot or a rocks drink.

Or a pink lady? I always thought it's the perfect gay drink--pink and sweet but also made with gin, which I think belongs securely in the manly category. Pour into a shaker with ice: 1 shot gin, 1/4 oz lemon juice, 1 egg white, and 2-3 drops of grenadine. Shake and strain into a cold cocktail glass.

A sidecar is another classic cocktail that no one seems to make--basically a daiquiri with brandy instead of rum. Pour into a shaker with ice: 2 oz. Brandy, 1 1/2 oz. lemon juice, and 1/2 oz. triple sec. Shake and strain into a cold cocktail glass.

Holy cow it's my favorite. Give me some good gin though. Can't stand beefeater's gin, tanqueray's okay... but my favorite is most definitely Bombay Sapphire. Had a few of those yesterday, lol

I like both gin and vodka martinis
Gimlets are refreshing, oo and let's not forget magahritas, yummy
Then you can get into all those dessert drinks like Baileys and coffee or hot chocolate
