Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a console device - PSP3 or Xbox360. Which one would you recommend?
But I've already browsed many forums and there is no telling what is best. So I have to decide by the games I can get. And after very stresful workday, one of the criteria is also possibility to play some action game in "god mode". In PC games, it is very usual for games to have cheats or trainers for that, but what about consoles?

Anyway, I can be very flexible in choosing games, but my bf is quite choosy in this matter, so I'd be looking for a first-person action sci-fi game with god mode available for his birthday, if you have any tips.

Tnx in advance

With consoles you'll be strugging to find 'god mode'. Most companies save that functionality for the PC version of the game.
If you want a entertianment centre: PS3
If you want a dedicated gaming console: XBOX360 (go with the 4GB version unless you are a avid rockband player/download lots of games online)

Most games are compatable with both, but there are far more games for the Xbox, the Xbox also recieves updates, patches and DLC sooner than its PS3 counterpart.

Don't buy a Wii.

Just don't.

The key deciding factor is which system will have the games that you want because some games are console exclusive.

If you decide to buy a xbox360 make sure the chip is the correct one and I hear that there are problems with the new one as well. Don't worry I'm not biased my brothers and I own all three current gen systems.

Each one has it's own strengths/weakness, but the most significant difference are the gaming libraries.

Just to be clear, PS3 is a gaming console too. Why are people writing it off as a entertainment system? It has the same amount of games as 360. Yeah you pay to play online with 360, but with PS3 playing online is free and I have never had any problems with playing online with the PS3.

The only thing you pay is if you want a PlayStation Plus subscription which doesn't improve online play at all but you can free games and demos early than non-subscribers.

Neither 360 or PS3 have a God Mode unless you play a first person shooter where you can input the codes like Half-Life but even with that. They restricted major cheats like Gameshark, Code Breaker and Action Replay.

360 has been out the longest which is why you'll see a bigger amount library of games than PS3. But that's not to say the PS3 doesn't have a good library of games.

But I heard and keep hearing that 360 has more first person shooters like Halo. So if you only want games that deal with first person then get a 360.

I agree with LukiusCurtiss that 360 has problems with the newer systems. I had a friend who went through two 360 consoles, I'm still on my first PS3 that I bought back in 2008 and it hasn't died on me yet.

Though I also own a Wii its just collecting a LARGE amount of dust because their library has been mostly directed towards the causal gamer yeah people will think that's an ignorant assumption but the only game that seems to catch my eye is Goldeneye which I hear mixed reviews about.

When it comes to cheats, neither system have them unless they are games where you can input codes or words. Don't expect trainers or programs that hack into games.

Thanks to all for advices...

I don't really see the difference in number of games - for the start, there is LOT for both. And I found the game Crysis 2 seems to fit all the criteria (scifi, 1st-person, godmode) and it's for both the consoles.

Although I have two more months to decide because my bf birthsday is in june, I'll probably go with PS3, coz I like it has the blueray and horizontal orientation.

Thanks to you all

PS3 honestly ontop of better games you also get blue-ray which is amazing!!
