I had every intention of staying away from this thread. But I was directed to a few videos that angered me beyond belief...
As a member of this community and as a woman, I am apalled by these videos, and I am saddened that so many of you can't see what this means to you as gay men. It isn't the fact that he's queeny or fem. It's the fact that he is taking every stereotype ever spoken about the community and bringing it to the forefront of people's minds, again. Just when things were getting a little better. You think gay marriage is going to be allowed now? Think again. This kid represents everything that is wrong with the media and our society. He is the quintisential representation of "it's funny because it's true." They aren't laughing with him, they are laughing at him, and every single gay person out there, regardless of their need to be queeny or be straight acting.
Darlingstacy, I would advice that you grab a couple of books. The first one is called "The Second Sex" by Simone de Beauvoir. In it she explores how men have been making women into the 'other' as a means of oppression. The next one is called "The Beauty Myth" by Naomi Wolf, then there's Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women by Elizabeth Wurtzel, and also "Nymphomania: A History" by Carol Groneman.
As a woman, and it seems that you are so angered by the attitude CC has shown towards women, it would serve you best in your battle for feminism to read about what HETEROSEXUAL MALE institutions such as politics, religion, society, and even a predominantly run heterosexist male science has done to socially desecrate women in far more heinous ways than CC.
Let us not forget a wonderful man named Eminem who has been showered with awards, after awards for his poetic lyrics and his great talent. Have you seen Eminem's lyrics? If not perhaps you should. If you have, then perhaps it would be great to revise them. A lot of people used talk about the 'comedy' behind his lyrics. As for myself something about slicing the throat of your child's mother stuffing her in the trunk of car and then having your daughter throw her off a bridge, they don't really sound all that comedic to me, but hey... And wasn't Fred Durst also investigated in connection to the rapes that took place during Woodstock '99? R. Kelly and child porn videos... O.J. Simpson smiling at the cameras after having gotten away with what he did to Nicole Simpson. I would think that if you are such as serious feminist and if you are such a concerned member of the community then you would take a more active stance in that place where real activism is required. Unless of course, it's safe feminism which is what you're looking for then you're doing nothing more than disrespecting all the women that have fallen at the hands of men. HETEROSEXUAL MEN.
CC is a waste of time to real feminist work.

So Darlingstacy, it seems to me that if you are really concerned for the state of womanhood, you have some serious work cut out for you. You might also want to look into Jerry Springer who seems to have a thing for giving chicks who show their tits beads. Oh then there was the guy behind the "Girls Gone Wild" videos, who was charged with sexual harassment.
Yeah, Andrea Dworkin would also have some strong words about pornography. Perhaps you should look around you and see what kind of site this is.
And for the record. What CC is saying is no different than the beer ads, or car magazines, rock bands have pretty much said about women. Except while CC CLEARLY SAYS HE'S JOKING, heterosexual male institutions are not.
Thought I'd give you a little help with your crusade to rescue women. Seeing how a gay man that is effeminate degrades the gay community, because effemicy is degrading period. Perhaps as a feminist you would want to change those attitudes. By the way, did you look at the video where CC gives credit to the fallopian tubes and calls women the stronger sex? Probably not. You might want to do that.
