Well here we are :)

It has been approx 12-14 months of hard work, but I am finally starting to see the start of results from my lifestyle changes and exercise routines.

Just under 2 years ago I ended up tipping the scales at 119kg, when I saw that I freaked out and decided that would be the highest it ever went.

No pictures attached of that point because they are in hardcopy and yucky.

From there I changed my diet completely, no added sugars, as limited sugars as possible unless they were natural (ie fruit, veggies etc). Higher levels of good fats, lower levels of bad fats, lots of protein and lots of veggies.

Zero snacks, zero sodas, only water and lots and lots of milk!

Exercise started, eventually working from home into a 3-day strength split at the gym (push-pull-legs). Cardio has started to top my priorities right now as well.

This picture (where my face is hidden) is halfway through my cutting (weight loss) process, I was down to roughly 93kg and a fairly high bodyfat percentage still.

As of tonight I am 83.7kg, getting to a bodyfat percentage where my veins are starting to show during lifting, and I can almost see my abs! Still a bit of flab over my lower abs though :(

My goal from here you ask? I need to develop my cardio fitness a LOT and also work on strength as well, building my back, triceps, shoulders and legs mainly.

It may take some time but I will update this when more progress has been made, the pictures help me a lot though, when I look in the mirror, I still see the same old me as before.

I am just happy at this point that I am getting healthier and have a place like JUB to enjoy my down time :)

Awesome job Chris! Keep it up! My partner and I also just started a lifestyle/diet change...looking forward to seeing results like yours!

Congrats on your progress! This thread is inspiring and might inspire me to lose a few pounds and get into better shape.

Congratulations! Keep up the good work, and keep posting pictures.

You are very hot by the way.

Thanks everyone ;)

Regarding motivation? I literally had a snap mental change that made me focused to do it for myself, not for anybody else. After cutting out sugary drinks and snacks, the initial weight loss gave me extra motivation to continue.

Right now I am maintaining my bodyfat around the current 14-15% mark until I reach a better level of lean muscle mass, so I don't appear malnourished when I drop down a few % more.

I am also single and haven't got an extremely active social life, so it gives me plenty of time to hit the gym, focus on my diet correctly and set goals.

Great story and proof that everybody can do it, given the will power. I hope you are inspiration for many more :)

WOW - you are amazing !! be very very proud of what you've been able to do !! I wish i could do HALF of that !!

There's a lot to be said for "natural food eating plans" ! I tried a vegan "diet" for over 4 months and dropped almost 14K -- nothing compared to the fantastic job you've done !!!

Can i hug you - maybe a spark will ignite some weight loss in me -- I know there would be sparks because you are sooooo hot !!!

I love it!(!)

Your dedication and hard work is inspiring!

Thanks guys :) hopefully some progress pics will come again soon, however the most interesting thing has been trying to adapt my eating with my increase in cardio.

For example, today I ate;
Breakfast- oats and honey, coffee, avocado on toast with vegemite
*went for a run*
Brunch - protein shake
Lunch - Chicken and 250gr of jasmine rice and veggies.
*work - involved about 9hrs of walking around*
Afternoon tea - protein shake
Dinner - Penne arrabiata and some leftover steak
*gym after work*
After gym - glass of full fat milk and some snow peas.

Starting to feel and just visually notice the separation between the centre of my abs, before they were just a bulge, now they are starting to define a bit.

Still feel silly because my pecs and abs are the same size, I feel like a keg

It takes time Chris. I finally bring my lazy ass up and went biking. 3 days in a row and a walk up the hill. I'll probably hit the gym soon. One question, do you drink the muscle builder kind of stuff?

Congratulation for your hard work and dedication !

I was at the same point than you when you began, but I'm stuck after one year at your 1st picture.

What is very noticeable in the 3rd and 4th pictures is that your shoulders are larger now than your waist, and for me it would be my main goal. I find that at this point someone like you start to look very hot and sexy.

Feel free to post other pictures and notices on your progress !

Thanks pope :) you will get there. Gradual gains really.

And Glassy, I do drink protein shakes (mostly whey). Full fat milk and whey protein is a quick way to up my calorie intake for the day, and keeps me full as well.

I struggle to eat the required amount of food unless its dirty or calorie dense, milk is fantastic for that and the whey adds some extra goodness.

I occasionally use creatine as well and find pretty good results.

Hey chris, I started workin out 3 weeks ago I am currently 154lbs @ 5ft 8in. My goal is to lose body fat maybe get down to 140lbs then start a clean bulk. So far I have lost 4 lbs and 1 inch around my waist. I think I will be able to handle losing the body fat as long as I stick to the plan. I too drink whey but any other supplement kinda scares me. I just don't know too much about them. I love oats they keep me full and I just eat them plain.

Too be honest, I have not stuck to my diet very well the past two days and I was kinda feeling bummed about it, but thanks to your posting on JUB now I'm ready to get get back into it. Please keep us posted on your progress and I will let you know how I am doing as well. Accountability may just keep me on track lol

Good job on starting duigi. ^^

I can say, if you drink and sodas or eat any candy foods, it is the best way to instantly cut your calorie intake massively without a substantial change to diet.

I found now that eating to caloric maintenance on a healthy diet with a focus on veggies and other foods as a majority over meats is extremely hard to do until you get used to it. It is just SO much food.

Eating lots of meat, milk, fatty oily foods though or candy, bam... dense easily consumed calories. (I still drink a litre of milk per day though!)

Thanks! Wow that is a lot of milk. I don't like milk but I started drinking it just for the health/fitness benefits. But I only drink 8 to 16 oz a day lol. Yeah, eating healthy is hard work. I am getting a new work out bench this Thursday. I have been improvising in the mean time, so it will be nice to be able to work out properly.

I don't have a real huge problem with consuming candy/sodas etc because I am a diabetic, but I am human and I occasionally eat a doughnut:D
