Christina A fans!

Well, Stirpped has outsold In The Zone (both US and worldwide) and Back to Basics has outsold Blackout both in US and worldwide...so I guess, Christina would be outselling Britney since 2003.

Except not? Considering In the Zone outsold Back to Basics and GH:MP outsold Back to Basics world-wide. Saying that is like me saying Britney has outsold Christina since 2004. You cant even accurately say that considering they have never released an album at the same time.

Back to Basics - 1.6 million copies sold

In the Zone - 2.9 million copies sold
Greatest Hits: My Prerogative - 1.5 million copies sold
Blackout - 900,000 copies sold

Aint No Other Man - Platinum
Hurt - Gold

Gimme More - Platinum
Piece of Me - Platinum

... and thats with no promotion

What was the point of posting those numbers? Stripped and ITZ were released in the same year. ITZ sold 2.9 million and Stripped sold 4 million.

Unless Blackout manages to magically sell another 700,000 copies anytime soon, it's not catching up to Back to Basics either.

And that's just counting U.S. sales. Let's not talk worldwide.

Ok. Let's do this in an orderly fashion. You've sayed yourself that they've never released an album in the same year. So you can compare it like that. But they have released albums within at least 1 year of each other. You can compare them like that. And that would look like.

Christina: Stripped (2002)-4.2 million US (10+ million wordwide)
Britney: In The Zone (2003)-3 million US (8 million worldwide)
Britney: Greatest Hits (2004) 1.5 million (5 million worldwide)

Christina: Back To Basics (2006) 1.6 million US (4.5 million worldwide)
Britney: Blackout 900,000 US (3.6 million worldwide)

Since 2003, Christina has been outselling Britney!

Yeah except they werent. Stripped was released in October 2002 and In the Zone was released in November 2003...? Where are you getting your release dates from? Not to mention ITZ only had 3 singles and Stripped had 5. So I can sit and say Britney sold a million copies for every single and Christina only sold 800,000. So now you can say well Back to Basics sold about 500,000 for every single and Blackout sold 300,000 for every single but then I can say Britney didnt promote Blackout at all. You just cant accurately compare their sales.

Okay then by your numbers Christina has only sold 14.5 million albums and Britney has sold 16.6 million albums. Whos the winner there? You cant accurately say because there isnt a 3rd album to compare! So again I really dont see how you can make this argument work. And you cant even count any albums before 2001 because thats when sales were amazing and not sinking like they are today. You can never compare their sales. The day we see them release within months of each other we can say who sells more.

This is a hard argument to make because although at some points Britney has outsold Christina and vice versa, they are both insanely successful. But remember, they're different people, they have different strengths and different weaknesses.

Christina is by far a much talented singer, with a wider range and powerful voice. Britney Spears may possibly be a better marketer, in that she markets what she has very well. (Not to say she can't sing, but her vocals are very lacking) Christina is known to stay true to herself, "Stripped" and "Back to Basics" are prime examples of that, while Britney does the same with "In the Zone", only not as strongly. Britney has had more successful tours, however, I don't think Britney is the better performer necessarily, if you watch the Grammys from 2007 Christina owns the stage.
They both have their own styles and are great. As a Christina fan, I may be biased, but I do believe she's more talented, however I don't think she is as smart about marketing herself.

I agree with you on some points but today in the music industry vocal talent isnt the only thing you need. Britney is a talented dancer, performer, and knows how to market herself and knows what works for her. Christina has a powerhouse voice, is a pretty decent song writer, and loves to expirement with different music styles. If I had to choose what concert I would attend I would probably choose Britney but if they were doing a small show in a club I would probably go see Christina.

I agree with that completely. I think Britney, if she can keep it together, may be successful for longer, only because she's much smarter about the business and what people want. I think Christina's "Back To Basics" tour was amazing because it was such a huge show, which is how Britney usually is, but it's not about Christina's performance alone. Unfortunately, Christina's vocal ambition makes her shows fall short of what's expected because it's not easy to do all that and hit those whistle notes at once. Britney' shows, since her vocals are in a more comfortable place, just blow people away.
But as for the competition between the two?...I love them both and would LOVE to see them collaborate on a dance smash.

Yeah a collabo would be amazing and it would work too considering Christina's next album is suppose to be dance pop. Chances are she will work with producer Britney frequents on her albums. I would love for them to do a song with Bloodshy & Avant (Toxic, Do Somethin, Toy Soldier, Piece of Me, Radar). They are just the ultimate dance song producers! I love them. Plus they have another thing in common. Britney turned down the chance to work with Timbaland and Christina publicly refused to work with him. So they both are not going with the flow.

Those are a few of my favorite Britney songs especially "Radar", I didn't know the producers but anything like that would be great! People have been pitting Britney & Christina against each other for so long that if they just hit the scene with a Collaboration, people would be so surprised and it would sell like hotcakes.(Did I actually just say that?) It's really nice that they both refused to work with Timbaland, because the last thing anyone needs is more Timbaland songs. They're good, but they all have a similar sound so I'm glad Christina and Britney took their own ways.
Also, how do you know about Christina's Pop-Dance album? I new it was going to be "Short, sweet and completely different" from back to basics, but I haven't heard anything about dance-pop. I'd absolutely love that.

Ive recentley discovered "Infatuatio" off her Stripped Album, it is Amazing...she proclaims her love for Puerto Rican men in it...lol...that made me smile...

In fact that whole fuckin album is good...all killer, no filler!

I cant remember where I read it but it was a quote from one of her producers and he said Christina was going to do an all pop album.

Christina's ad for Macy's.

I'm not gonna lie, the dress makes me think of cabbage, but hell, she's a total bombshell.
She always looks amazing.

Well people were actually saying her breasts were fake long before her baby. Same with Britney.

I used to think they were fake too. 'Til I saw this picture.
