Christina Aguilera's 3rd Single Is.......

Cool. I would have preferred Slow Down Baby but Candyman is the logical choice, just as long as SDB is released after this.

I think with having Candyman and SDB as back to back singles she'll OWN the first half of 2007. Especially since Beyonce doesn't really have anymore good singles off of B'Day except maybe Get Me Bodied.

ugh. christina is irritating. her OHHHH WOOOO OHHH YEEEEAAA OOOOHHHH every 14 seconds in a song. gotta carry that note as long as you can to prove you are better than everyone. but whatever, to each their own. I like some shitty music to

I agree. And Beyonce would rock it if she released Get Me Bodied that's the best song on the album.

I can't wait to see the video. Hopefully they'll invite her to sing at the Grammys this year (why wouldn't they??)

And yeah I think Beyonce's done with Bidet.....she'll probably be making more music videos for Dreamgirls to muster up whatever Oscar buzz her camp (i.e. Matthew) can build up.

2007 will belong to Christina!

So irritating that you bothered wasting your precious time to enter a thread titled "Christina Aguilera's 3rd Single Is" simply to troll it and complain about how much you hate her.

To the left, to the left.

[Back to Basics]

Few singers would dare attempt a song like the rock-tinged ''Hurt,'' whose self-help bromides Aguilera delivers with melodrama that would make Barbra Streisand shudder; fewer still could make it so compelling.

-Entertainment Weekly

Christina wants to revive that adventurous, sexy soul spirit. And in the case of Disc 1, that's exactly what she does, with spectacular results.

Aided and abetted by two of hip hop's most creative activists - elder and all round scratchy master DJ Premiere and loopy young funkster Mark Ronson - the first disc of her double disc opus is a low-down and dirty masterpiece.

-Yahoo Music

With the gravitas of a powerhouse diva, Aguilera has pulled together an album that puts her peers to shame.

-New York Times

At one disc, this would have been nothing short of masterful.

-Rolling Stone

it's ridiculously difficult to pick standouts in an album of standouts.

-Blogcritics

[Stripped]

A must-hear recording rich with pleasantly surprising depth.

-Billboard

Overall, the album is a little more rock, a little more sophisticated and includes actual artistic input from the artist herself. A wonder in these modern times.

-Launch

As a pop record, Stripped is practically flawless.

-CDNow

Interesting responses to such "shitty music".

Although I was not a fan of "Hurt" myself, I'm really surprised it peaked at a less than exciting No. 19.

Even Billboard magazine, when reviewing the single three months ago, predicted that it would go even higher than "Beautiful." "Beautiful" went to No. 2.

It's still gaining spins on radio...for some reason people just aren't downloading it.

Hurt didn't do too well in the UK either...number 11 :(

I am a big fan of the album and Candyman, obvious single choice and should do well in the UK (i don't know much about the American Charts).

I love Nasty Naughty Boy off Back To Basics :D

Oh! I love Candyman. Can't wait to see the video. ;)

I'm excited about it myself?

Have you guys been seeing that Verizon Wireless commercial. Candyman is featured on it.

and I read on another site that Hurt is #4 on worldwide charts.

Get Me Bodied is sooooooo played out. Freakum Dress is the stuff.
I'm sorry, I just had to add my 2 cents.

Christina is done w/ her touring, and she'll be making an appearance on "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve" I think its called. This'll probably be where she debuts Candy Man(hopefully) as 3rd single.

I'm not surprised "Hurt" didn't do well, I only hear it about once a day on the radio and it never cracked the top 10 on Itunes, it's a good song but it wasn't strong enough to be the second single and her album sales are suffering because of the decision. That just goes to show that the ARTIST should make the single decisions NOT the record label.

I liked candyman when it was played during the Chocolate commercials, but when I downloded it, the song was kind of boring. The vocals are nice, but the sound she's mimicing is way less than subtle. Ain't No Other Man had that retro flair without being too duplicative (is that even word?)

But this one, beyond the provactive euphemisms, is kind of boring. I want to hear somethng a bit more fresh from her, not just her singing with retro style. Leave that to the actual big band singers and just make something new out of it.

Hurt went top ten here. Its the only song so far from the album that I really love.

The reviews were correct about the album being a masterpiece if she had stuck to the one disc. By disk 2 it kind of loses control for me and each song doesn't really merge together like they did on disc 1. Hurt was probably released at the wrong time of year in my opinion in the UK, as the winter was approaching, hurt does nothing to lift the spirits. She would have been better releasing something more upbeat for her second single, like candyman or slow down baby as the party season approached. It also seems like she did all of her promotional stuff for the album and first single and then went all quiet on us.
