Christina's "Back to Basics"

OUCH

61% drop this week! to #3

130,000 copies sold

Eh, it's not that bad. If it only sold that much and is still #3, 1 and 2 didn't sell that much more...

Oh and "Hurt" WILL be the second single, it's been confirmed.

hey guys!! first time posting.. =p i was wondering if it was possible to upload 'Aint no other man" ? my mum n dad dont let me buy cds >_< so stupid :(

Well said!!! I feel the exact same way.

(*8*)

The more I listen to "Hurt" the more I like it, because, initially, it was the only song that didn't leave me with any sort of impression. (Except for how much it reminded me of "The Voice Within.") This song is going to be big for her, I think, and a wise move to follow up the high energy "Ain't No Other Man" with this ballad.

So true. "Hurt" is definitely going to be a smash and will give her more accolades in the months to come. Her vocals give me the chills on that song. The first time I heard it I almost wanted to cry her voice was so powerful and beautiful.

 Right back at ya Gemini

I watched christina perform "Hurt" last night and i absolutely like that song if only because i can relate to what she is saying.

I have a question though. Is the man she is singing about dead?

She sang "Whenever i call his phone he is not there" and then she sang something about never being able to see him again.

So if anyone knows exactly what hurt is about clarify it.

I would like it more if the man is not dead, just the relationship. Because if the man is not dead then the lyrics to the song mirror my last relationship.

It's about her father and I don't think he's dead. Just haven't talked to each other for a long time.

It's actually about Linda Perry's father, who had passed away recently. Christina simply wanted a song about losing someone because she hadn't sung about the topic before. The original lyrics to the song had to be redone because they were too focused on Linda's father making it hard for others to relate to. The final version is created for the masses and is meant to be a song that anybody alive can relate to, like 'beautiful.'

She had a great performance at the VMAs last night. Although it sounded like her voice hadn't been warmed up, or she had mucus or somthing. It also didn't quite "flow" as it does on the CD version. She sung the quieter/higher notes way too carefully. Oddly, i didn't quite enjoy the period during the performance, because maybe i felt her tension and anxiety for not being at her best, but i was relieved after the performance, not because i didn't like it the performance itself, but because i was happy that she still sung it so well despite not having been at her best. :)

Oh is it? My bad. I thought it was about Christina's.

Her 3rd week sales were 101,000

That brings "Back to Basics" sales to 582,000 units.

Media Traffic is also reporting it has sold close to 1 million copies WW.

Did y'll see her performance of CANDYMAN on Fashion Rocks? She was on fire and vocals were spot-on!

Yes I saw her Performance it was awesome! The announcers before and after were boring as hell though and the crowd were like undead zombies.

I actually thought her album sucked. Then again I never liked her to begin with.

I quite like cristina and i like the new albu although for me it didnt live upto my expectations of what i heard it was like , its got some great tracks on it but i wouldnt brag much about the album

I like some of the tracks, Christina's voice is amazing. Not sure if I like the whole concept of the album though.

Lets face it.. 1st of all, Christina is a better singer than Britney! Ok? (Madonna as well) And i think its great that people that isn't that big Christina-fan, buys her album and actually likes some of her songs! And i think alot of singers today want's to make an album with like 10 songs, just to be famous! The stripped album had 20 songs on it.. And back to basics as well..Christina is a true artist! And she will be that forever!:=D:
