Christina's performance in the Grammy's

Mary on the otherhand had some pitch problems but she puts so much emotion and soul into her music we can all oevrlook that.

They BOTH had some issues, but belted out STELLAR performance, can't deny that!
Mary rocked that placed last nite and Christina, WOW is all I have to say.

They are soul singers, and its not about sounding "perfect," it was about what they did last nite... !

Exactly, and they both definitely BROUGHT the soul last night. Christina was damn near possessed by James Brown himself.

Mary J....is overrated...

I believe the Grammy's have officially become a political boon. Because all the ones that won the mainstream awards redid themselves or said something affecting global politics....or they were proven right...such as the Dixie Chicks.

I'm not saying the winner's aren't talented...they are...but Dixie Chicks over ALL Others? SERIOUSLY? NO! After the Bush outrage of a few years back was now proven to be mostly true....the music world rewards them for their honesty...

John Mayer waits for the World to Change...and gets a Grammy...bleh.

Mary J. changed her whole outlook on life and did a 180 on her lifestyle. Well...let's reward her.

*spits on the Association.* Tis stupid to even hope that the real talent gets the awards.

Who really influenced pop this year in Best Pop Album?
Surely it should have been Timberlake or Aguilera...surely!

That's my 2Cents

I was really hoping Christina would get it. :( She really was the underdog but I was hoping she could pull an upset. She worked really hard to put together something innovative and fresh, and it ended up being a fantastic album. She's got 4 Grammys, but she's yet to be awarded for an ALBUM. Only vocal performances, and she's more than just a voice--as last night proved.

Christina was absolutely A.M.A.Z.I.N.G....(!)

from MSN Music:
And the one moment that gave Shakira a run for her money as the show-stealer: Christina Aguilera laying waste to James Brown's "It's a Man's World," at the end of a medley that also included Smokey Robinson singing "Tracks of My Tears" AND Lionel Richie singing "Hello." A vision in white, spilling out of her vest (note to Sting: the look works for Christina, not for you), pouring every last drop of oxygen she had into this tribute to the late Godfather, Aguilera was so powerful that it didn't matter if she'd ever heard of James Brown before. There was a lot of earnest tribute made to Brown all night, but Christina was better than earnest. She was great.

Definitely an unforgettable performance!!!!

T.H.E GREATEST PERFORMANCE AT THE GRAMMY's....EVER!!

She ripped the fucking roof off that place, I really wished they would have panned out into the audience while she was singing so we could see the audience reactions mid-song. AMAZING, no one can sing like this girl.

Iflookscouldkill...couldn't agree more! She really is a giant leap ahead of all competition in the music industry.

OMG it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to see her live in april!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She looked gorgeous.

^^^^^^Yes! She looked absolutely ravishing! :=D:

I'm still kinda pissed John Mayer won Best Pop Vocal Album over X. Grr......:grrr:

Every now and then, an artist performs a rendition of a classic that wholly reinvents the song—revealing the secrets of the original even as it deepens them. Rascal Flatts' cover of "Hotel California" was not that performance. For such transcendence, you had to wait around for Christina Aguilera. In a flash, this woman—white from hair to heels, with a cadmium-red mouth for power and passion—was on her knees pleading with the ghost of James Brown: "This is a man's, a man's, a man's world/ But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl." It was peerless and strange and every bit as mind-warping as Prince's having beaten Hendrix for lust and Dylan for wrath in his Super Bowl "All Along the Watchtower." Thus, Aguilera provided the spectacular pop of the 49th Grammys.

Actually i think it will inspire Britney to comeback even better and bigger than ever.

Now that Britney and Justin are friends again he might help out with her Album.

Justin knows a thing or two about making hit albums, his first 2 albums both got Album of the year nominations.

I like what you said! Stop hatin' on Britney
Isn't this a thread about Christina's performance?!

Britney makes it pretty easy for people to "hate" on her. What has she done in the past few years to make you want to "love" her?

that's pretty effed up to compare the two physically, considering one just had not 1 but 2 babies. Britney's made a ton of mistakes, but I'm sure we've all done things that other people would look down on us for.

...like being a homo, perhaps?

just be careful about judging people, especially those you don't know personally.

I can't beleive I even responded to this hyper-gay ass thread. I'm not a fan of either.

How can you compare being a homosexual to whoring yourself out to the press, hanging out with Paris Hilton and showing your snatch to the world, marrying a man and then annulling it 48 hours later, then getting with a man who already has someone else pregnant, then blaming all your troubles on the paparazzi?

I never made that comparison. My point was that there are more people that find you and I more disgusting than any of Britney's exploits simply cause we like the dick. It's totally unfair to judge a person based solely on their 'mistakes'. Plenty of guys here show their dicks to the world...doesn't make them skanks. X-Tina's 'Dirty' (love that vid, btw) was filthier than any video Britney's done , and there was a period when she was considered the worser of the two evils, yet you praise her?

All I'm sayin' is...the bitch is human, just like the rest of us. She's entitled to some fuck-up's.
