Traditionally the English take their Christmas decorations down on 12th night ( 6th January).

When do you take yours down?

Usually around that same time. The weekend after New Years weekend. Some celebrate "Three Kings", which I believe is around the 6th or 7th, as the official end of the holiday season.

No decorations for me. I'll be away over the holidays so they stay in the attic this year. I usually enjoy putting them up but HATE taking them down and repacking everything.

I normally take my down on New Year's eve. ..|

By that stage I am looking forward to a new year :D

usually the first weekend after new year's.

We take ours down on Valentines Day.
The winter is depressing and dismal enough - the Christmas Tree (artificial) helps to brighten it up somewhat.
Sometimes we even turn it into a Valentines Tree and hang hearts all over it and have a party. :)

We take ours down at Epiphany, Jan 6.

I like the idea of a Valentine tree, too.

We usually leave the tree up through the end of January... everything else comes down right after the New Year.

The indoor decorations around the 6th, but the outdoor lights usually stay up longer, sometimes into February.

Traditionally (family tradition), decorations go up the second weekend before Christmas Day and are taken down the day after New Year's Day.

Can I get back to you over this as I haven't even finished getting them all up yet. :grrr:

I'm just putting mine up also as I leave them through the 12 days. I feel like laughing at the lights that go up shortly after halloween & come down Dec 26. And these same folk get upset if someone says Happy Holidays! Have a Cool Yule!

Christmas decorations should never come down before Epiphany.
However, I like Christmas decorations and sometimes leave them up until Mardi Gras.

i put mine the outside ones up the day after my mums b day and during the week she puts the decorations up indoors on all 4 trees no like there is space for them lol but we take them down i think the second week after new years or when its not raining outside
