Someday I have anal pain the only way I can describe it is like having acid burn right at the anus and the skin 1-2 inches around and whenever I have a bm it stings, whenever I whip even when its diarrhea the paper is covered in 30-50 tiny spots of blood and when I blot again it’s the same, I’ve had this for years and its prevents me from doing anything anal some days while others it’s like I have nothing there.

Before I lost my health insurance I went to the Gastrointestinal Doctor once and he said he thought it was anal fissures but that doesn’t explain the “acid rash” and the almost constant dots of blood, I did have hemorrhoids life years ago but they went away, but that’s the only thing I can think of that it could possibly be.

Again I’ve had this for years and I’ve learned to live normally with it, but I want to try bottoming and that’s where it seems like it can become a problem. And this seems life the best place to ask a medical question life this.

So if anyone has any ideas or alive other then goes to doctor:help:

maybe some kind of fungal infection? probably wouldn't explain the blood though. you shouldn't take stuff like this too lightly, so even if you don't want to hear it - go to a doctor.

i would if i could, i dont have insurence, and iv been trying to get a job but none of the places call me back, as a student i can get back on parents health insurence because of the healthcare reform but i have to waiht till next year to get the forms as mom has to declare me to the company as a dependent and they only do the paperwork at the begining of each year.

if only lived in canada lol

It sounds more like you have chronic colitis. The only way that you will know is to see a doctor. And chronic blood in the stool, as you probably know, can be a sign of polyps or colorectal cancer.

If you live in a state where there is a medical school or county hospital system, you can be seen under a reduced fee arrangement at the public clinic. And if you are paying cash, you also have the right to ask for the same reduced fees that an insured patient would receive.

hey there i have just read your thread with interest you did not say if the spotting was dark or bright red in colour as this can make all the difference in making a diagnosis which only a qualified doctor should be doing and only after a proper examination including bloods. Some if the threads i have read are very good commom sense others not so good i agree with corny you should never disregard bleeding there in the hope that maybe it is just a small fissure. As you can no doubt tell i come from a country where there is a national health service and for this i thank god could you not go to what you guys refer to as the er they should be able to help. In the meantime i think that passive anal sex should be off your list or things to do for the moment. I hope that it turns out to be something very easy and treatable take care. medic1 MB ChrP

the blood it bright red, its always in the form of tiny dots, i have yet to see it in the form of one big spot or streaks.

there is a public clinic just down the road from my college but from what iv seen they only do tb tests and free flu shots.

Go there 1st they should be able to help the only bit of good news i can give is usually the brighter the blood the lesser the problem. I hopoe that it works out for you . Take care.

Ok, I just happened to see this thread as I was going to check my PMs.

Two days ago, I went to the doctor cause I had some sort of mysterious bump inside my rectum that I thought had popped or broke open -- leaving a cut where the head of it used to be. It stung when I washed up there or had a bowel movement. There was some light blood the 2nd day after it happened so I went to the doctor.

If you go, he'll probably do a rectal exam to make sure it's not a hemorrhoid or to determine whether or not you have more fissures inside your rectum.

All my doctor gave me was two foil packs of Neosporin and told me to apply it twice a day, preferably after showering. I haven't had a problem since then and the sore I had went away.

The only other thing I would caution you to do is start taking fiber pills and try to increase your water intake to at least 6 to 8 cups of water a day.

It could be that your stool is actually too big and hard, causing you to stretch the anal walls beyond what they can handle, which causes the anal fissures inside or just outside your rectum.

The fiber pills and water should soften it to the point where you shouldn't have to strain so much when passing a bowel movement, which should give your body enough time to heal whatever's been damaged up there.

I hope that helps a little. If not, I think you should just try and find a doctor.

strangelittleboy has made some good points. You should be drinking at lreast 2 litres of water a day anyway the fibre pills not such a good igea as these tend to make your stools less mallable and harder to pass though we are all saying see a doctor.

I don’t think it fissures, as it seems my problem is worse when I have diarrhea sometimes I’ll be normal for a few days and ill have diarrhea then I’m bleeding again, which is why I think its something acid based, and again it’s not just at the anus it’s also around for 1-2 inches like a rash. I’ve looked up everything and it could be symptoms of anything from hemorrhoids to diaper rash to crones. At this point like everyone has been saying the only way I think I’m going to get an accurate answer is to get some kind of skin/swab taken and analyzed. Although it lived with it for years like someone said it could be an indicator of colon cancer or something worse.

Dont get yourself worked up over someone saying it could be an indicator of colonic cancer pardon my french but bollocks Colonic cancer never oresents itself as bright red blood spotting on tissue EVER. For your peace of mind i would strongly suggest that you book an appt with your local GUM clinic. this is confidential and free and they will be able to help. As you say with such symptons it is very difficult to diagnose without proper tests by a qualified doctor. Most of the advice that people here have given you is good old fashioned common sense but colonic cancer NO. Take care medic1 MB ChrP.

There's really two issues here- one is a short term irritation around your anus but the other is a long term issue with regularity, bleeding and pain. They may be related issues but not necessarily.

It's not usual for people to have short periods of diarrhea. And bleeding can be expected when there's a logical reason like constipation or prolonged diarrhea.

However, the symptoms that you have and the length of time that you have had them really point toward seeking the opinion of a physician who can perform an exam to pinpoint a diagnosis.

I agree tottally with KaraBulut they raise some very important issuies for your own peace of mind get to a doctor . I dont live in the USA so my understanding of your health care system is sketchy at best. Though surely there must be free clinics for people in your situation who does not have medical insurance?
My thoughts are with you and i hope everything works out for you take care.

Yeah, aren't there any free clinics or public hospitals? I mean... So if you can't pay you just have to suffer your diseases?? I can't believe you've lived with this for years!!

If it was only an irritation or fissures, it wouldn't last longer than a few days. This is too much, you shouldn't be forced to live with it just because you don't have insurance.

I mean, it CAN'T be such a crappy health care system.

um im almost cirtain you need to be at least 60 for medicare.

but anyways its getting worse i have stomech aces all day the tonight i had maroon diarea, i havent eaten anything red for a while like within the last week, nothing with red dye or anything red, and it was the whole toliet bowl, so the only thing i can think of is thats it blood, iv never had that color before and i havent eaten anything different so its the only conclution i can come to.

at this point my only real option is to try the free clinic but everytime i call no one answers, so im going to get a ride tomorow, hopefully that accually offer other servises then just the tb tests.
