What do you guys think about this new movie. I first saw a trailer when I went to Knocked Up, and felt really awkward for some reason. The movie seems really cliche and unoriginal, yet people were laughing during the trailer. Personally, I have no interest in seeing this movie. Talk amongst yourselves!

There's a move in entertainment called "gay panic". Think when Chandler and Ross (I think that's who it was) woke up from their unplanned nap together. That "oh my God - I'm not gay - I can't be gay - I hope nobody saw us and thinks we're gay!" maneuver.

This movie, as someone pointed out, looks like ninety minutes of gay panic.

Even if it turns out not to be demeaning to gay people (which I doubt), I can't stand Sandler. I'd always change the channel or fast forward whenever he did anything on SNL. And James has to be one of the least talented comedians in show business. I watched his sitcom when it first appeared on TV. He and the actress who played his wife have to be two of the worst actors of all time. It was the anti-Everybody Loves Raymond.

The posts above this one have pointed out precisely why I am not going to waste my money on this movie.

It's a dog...woof-- woof.

You can say that about a lot of movies now. It looks decent but I'm probably not going to watch it in theaters

I find it sad that a movie like that can still be made. I guess it shows how, not far we have come in this country (USA). If the same stereotypical plot was applied to blacks, or Jews, or woman, or any other "minority" it never would have been made. It is just sad and pisses me off.

Seems like a complete copy of "Strange Bedfellows", an Aussie movie released a few years ago with Paul Hogan. It was one of the most dreadful movies ever made in this country.

Having said that, I'll certainly be seeing this one 'cause I love Kevin James. He's so cute. (I bet I cop some abuse for that!)

This seems to me to be one of those movies based on the idea that every person alive has at one point thought about, except someone was actually so stupid that they actually decided to field it as a movie.

Lame.

Not malicious, but certainly not doing anyone any good.

ARRGGHHH... I saw 5 minutes of Bedfellows the other night and was soooo embaressed. I cant believe that i actually thought it would be a good idea to watch it....Limp wrists, rainbow flags, loving the Opera and poetry..PUH-LEAZ and Larry and Chuck wont be any better....but it WILL be the closest i get to thinking that Kevin James is gay...mmmmmm.... go on..flame away..i dont care....HE IS SEXY!
OH..and i just saw transformers..that was cool!

Eh... I saw the trailers and was like WTF? It doesn't look funny and the part where he punches him instead of kissing him is so stupid.

Joey and Ross.

I don't understand this... this is like the damn snickers commercial everyone got so unnecessarily upset about. Most heterosexual men are uncomfortable with homosexuality... making fun of that isn't making fun of gay people it's making fun of homophobia. For god's sakes every gets so upset over nothing all the time

That being said... it just doesn't look funny.

We know most heterosexual men are uncomfortable with homosexuality. That's why movies like this get made in the first place. It's the ol' if something makes you uncomfortable laugh it off and move on. I think it's naive to think it's merely poking fun at homophobia though. It may do that, but at the same time it will make gay relationships look like a joke yet again.

How can it make gay relationships look like a joke... there aren't any in the movie. I swear people always get all wound up over nothing.

These films usually have a first half that's filled with gay stereotypes and the characters getting uncomfortable, but by the second half there's usually an understanding reached, and diversity and tolerance are celebrated, all in the name of feel-good comedy. The premise may not be terrific, but I don't think it's going to be as offensive as many of you presume. And who knows, a successful Hollywood movie that has gay marriage as a central theme may not be such a bad thing after all?
