CIA Concludes that Russia Influenced Election to Help Elect Trump

So far there hasn't been any indication that votes were hacked; in fact Homeland Security noted that hacking the vote in a U.S. election would be an essentially insurmountable challenge due to the decentralized and "clumsy" methods used to tally votes.

That doesn't though, rule out use of any back doors on electronic voting machines.

As for those three states, local campaign workers complained more than once that the DNC was actively blocking their attempts to apply methods known to be effective on the local level, saying that the DNC assured them "We know what we're doing".

I agree. I was thinking more along the lines of voter influence.

Just checking in here, not a big poster. I was just curious, what evidence do we have that it was Russia that was the source for Wikileaks? So far it was just the CIA saying so. But they got caught in lies before, so I have a hard time trusting them. Same thing with people who lie to me once, it's hard to recover that trust.

Also, Julian Assange said it wasn't Russia.

Do we have any evidence yet?

From what I've been able to gleam pending the release of the official report, the methods and tools used in the hacks were ones developed by and used exclusively by Russian intelligence. Hacked information was channeled to Wikileaks and others via hacker sources that are known to be agents of Russian intelligence.

So. Even though Trump maintains that it didn't impact the vote....he apparently has now accepted that Russia is not necessarily the innocent actor in all of this.

Jesus Christ.

It is like he's developmentally delayed.

The declassified report says the Russian leader "ordered" a campaign aimed at influencing the election.
The report was released shortly after intelligence chiefs briefed Mr Trump on their findings.
Mr Trump stopped short of accusing Russia of interfering, saying only that the election outcome was not affected.

So please Trumpettes. Can you just finally accept that Putin did order the campaign in order to try to help Trump?

I'm just waiting now for the eventual line to be connected between the Trump campaign asking Putin to interfere. It is only a matter of time.

While he (his people) studiously avoid mentioning Russia....interesting how it has caught his attention.

I had a constructive meeting and conversation with the leaders of the Intelligence Community this afternoon. I have tremendous respect for the work and service done by the men and women of this community to our great nation.

While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines. There were attempts to hack the Republican National Committee, but the RNC had strong hacking defenses and the hackers were unsuccessful.

Whether it is our government, organizations, associations or businesses we need to aggressively combat and stop cyberattacks. I will appoint a team to give me a plan within 90 days of taking office. The methods, tools and tactics we use to keep America safe should not be a public discussion that will benefit those who seek to do us harm. Two weeks from today I will take the oath of office and America’s safety and security will be my number one priority.

How can anyone take him seriously?

Of course none of the information gleaned was used to influence voters...

I think the best part about Trump's capitulation on this is that it effectively boxes him and Putin in for awhile, at least.

His twitter campaign to undermine the security agencies has fallen flat.

His fart catcher's fawning interview with Russia's lead stooge Assange has demolished the credibility of Hannity, Trump and Assange.

Americans now have to wake up to the fact that a foreign power effectively helped create a campaign of misinformation and disinformation that worked to get their puppet candidate into the most powerful office in the world.

It has also re-affirmed that the legislative branch won't always just roll over and play dead when it comes to foreign affairs.

I give this humiliation of Trump, the week before his coronation......4 out of five ROFL's

So Trump is now admitting the Russian hacking of the DNC but blames the victim.

That Tweet was posted at 11 pm last night. Just yesterday, I was reading a report where he completely disagreed with the CIA.

He flip-flops more than the fish I used to catch when I was young. I used to whack them on the head with a stick until they stopped moving.

Hmmmmmm..........

It doesn't matter.

Adolf Hitler said:
The receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous.

His defiance of all traditional rules of politics makes it clear that if he wanted to Trump could do anything...

The administration has kept the actual facts about the hacking secret all this time, so of course many have been skeptical. Even now it appears that hacking disclosed the truth of internal machinations of the DNC and Hilary's campaign. Who was misled?

$5 million from Merkel and untold millions from the Saudis, all filtered through the Clintons' foundation. Yeah, talk about foreign influence.

As usual...just the same nonsensical nonsense pulled from your Alex Jones sites without any citations or proof to back it up.

The perfect Trump supporter.

^ Perhaps, if Clinton has won. Since she lost, you have no argument. And you certainly can't compare legitimate charity donations (which actually went to charities) with computer hacking and propaganda and fake news.

Trump wouldn't have to ask Putin; Putin knows the kind of man Trump is and would "pitch in" on that basis alone.

Wait -- the initial FBI report said the RNC was hacked but the hackers only looked and nothing more.

Trump: DNC’s ‘gross negligence’ allowed hacking

The DNC Servers shouldn't have been wearing those skimpy hot pants, the Russians can't be blamed for grabbing that p****.

It was reported that China had hacked the DNC in the last election and they were told about it, but that little was done to upgrade the protection, so he has a bit of a point.

I hope that some of the things I've seen are true, and that there will be fireworks over most of his cabinet picks -- from Republican senators.
