Circumcision doesn't help!

So you post the opinion of one PhD in pyschology that it doesen't cause any of the psychossomatic disturbances I mentioned, and you believe this carries more weight than the public statement made by the APA in 1999 that circumcision does cause all these pathologies? Also, I ma finishing pre-med and I am going to med shcool beggining next year, so I have some authority to speak on this subject.

Then you won't mind me taking the word of a man with 20+ years of study in the field of psychology, mainly in adolescent development, over yours when you don't even provide the actual evidence of the basis for your statement. I wasn't just relaying the thoughts of a single individual with significantly higher credibilty than yours, but that of several others that have been published on these subjects by the APA as well as others which also hold more credibilty than a pre-med student.

how am I teasing? I dare you to prove anything that I wrote is wrong. Is it a mere coincidence that the U.S, that despite having only 4% of the World's population but one of the highest infant circumcision rations, has the highest rate of adolescent boys on Ritalin, benzodiazepines, arrested for violent crimes and the highest rate of adolescent boys shooting their shools? I think not. And also, how am I joking if I gave a detailed explanation of why circumcision causes all these pathologies from the point of view of physiology, biochemistry and anatomy?

I dare you to prove that you are correct. Again, where is your evidence? Coincidence you say? Very interesting...

Detailed explanation? All I saw was someone using the word psychosomatic incorrectly and throwing in a few other big words to make himself seem like he knows what he was saying. Comparing Phsyiology, Biochemistry and Anatomy to Psychology? So sad...

And this pysychologist is insane. How can he compare a little scratch in the arms, legs, etc, with having the entire epidermial system of your genitalia removed? Obviously, having the entire skin of your genitals vut and the nerves that lay underneath ripped off will be far more traumatic than a little scratch in a far less sensitive area of the body than the genitals. What a retard. No wonder the American unbiversity system is in shambles.

Okay. start off by spelling it with me P-s-y-c-h-o-l-o-g-y. So physical trauma will register in an infants brain and cause him lasting psychological issues later in life when he won't even have any knowledge of the first year of his life? Where is this stated?

With all that said, I do respect your opinion, but I take credibilty more seriously than the ramblings of a pre-med student who does not provide the sources for his information.

Edit: Yes, Garawr he has many spelling mistakes as I'm sure I do too...

Edit 2: 3stripes, we aren't nuts, we're just discussing theory. :)

Yep, but my surgical cure has a certain finality to it. Google it.

I know what a bilateral orchidectomy is. I'd rather not... I like my nuts. All they do is hang around and not bother me unless called upon... :D

That's just me though...

There are at least four spelling mistakes in your post.

Not bad considering that English is not my first language, and that I'm not an anally retentive jackass who worries about spelling on an internet message board.

And the only reason why you are bringing up spelling is because you are intellectually incapable of replying to anything I wrote, so you bring up spelling to try to feel smarter than me in some way since you can't actually reply to the arguments.:-)

Bullshit. You provided a disputable quote from one guy saying that it doesen't cause the pathologies I've mentioned. The APA published in 1999 that circumcision might aggravate many mental illnesses and that the pain caused during circumcision is imprinted in the mesolimbic sustem of the brain forever.

I dare you to prove that you are correct. Again, where is your evidence? Coincidence you say? Very interesting...

Hang in there, chichi. As Cicero would say, the burden of proof lies with those who make the accusation. You made a bunch of unsusbtantiated claims that I was wrong, so you must present non-contradictory evidence produced by double-blind, placebo-controlled studies showing that I am wrong. Otherwise, I have nothing to respond to.

Detailed explanation? All I saw was someone using the word psychosomatic incorrectly and throwing in a few other big words to make himself seem like he knows what he was saying. Comparing Phsyiology, Biochemistry and Anatomy to Psychology? So sad...

How did I use the word pyschosomatically incorrectly? Show me. Frankly, you have no idea what you are even talking about. You are arguing for purely emotional reasons. You have no argument except blind rage because you were probably mutilated at birth.

And physiology and biochemistry affect people psychologically, Einsten. What do you think Prozac and other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors do? They increase the amount of the indolamine serotonin in the pre-synaptic cleft and that alters a person's mood(psychology). You incredible, incredible genius you!

Pointing out spelling mistakes is a pathetic attempt made by those who are losing an intellectual debate to make themselves look smarter by focusing on something completely irrelevant. English is not my first language and I type very fast, so I don't give a flying fuck about spelling. This is not a thesis submission, so I don't care about spelling each and every single little word correctly. And who said a child has no recollection of the first year? Have you ever heard of the word "subconscious"? Are you aware that tactile sensations like pain are memorized via complex neurochemical processes involving indolamines and catecholamines in the brain? Probably not. Again, you have no idea what you are talking about and are only arguing because you don't like what I said on an emotional level.

With all that said, I do respect your opinion, but I take credibilty more seriously than the ramblings of a pre-med student who does not provide the sources for his information.

At least I'm a pre-med student who studied organic chemistry, biology and physiology and thus I have authority to speak on how the pain of circumcision of babies is registered by the brain. You, conversely, are an internet nobody with no credential whasoever, talking shit you don't have a clue about to a guy who knows far more on the subject than you.

Edit: Yes, Garawr he has many spelling mistakes as I'm sure I do too...

[/QUOTE]

Your orthography leaves a lot to be desired, so you shouldn't be correcting other people's spelling mistakes. And unlike me, you don't have the excuse that English is not your native tone.:D

That, sir, is a lie, and why I replied to begin with.

That coming from the guy who likes to correct people's spelling while completely ignoring the debate at hand. No one gives a shit about spelling except for complete losers who use that to make themselves feel smarter when they have nothing to reply in terms of actual arguments in the debate at hand. Trust me when I tell you this, dude: correcting people's spelling will make you detestable in the eyes of 99% of people on any internet board.

I'm completely ignoring the debate at hand because, quite frankly, I don't give a shit one way or another. It's not about being intellectually capable of forming a rebuttal to your argument, it's about picking your battles. With an anally retentive jackass, I'm not about to start. ;)

Hey Dduder what is your first language?

To which APA do you refer?

He insists that he was serious, Comet.

Sad isn't it?

Frankly Dduder, lighten up. I could go on and on about everything wrong with what you've said so far. In case you didn't notice, I agreed that your points are valid in certain areas. Sadly, they are also invalid for similar reasons.

I really don't like to argue with people who think they have an understanding of the information they've read and more than obviously misinterpreted on many accounts. I get bored too quickly to bother with it anymore.

You are simply arguing based on predominantly medical knowledge of the subject while I am arguing based on accurate and up-to-date sources with experience a great deal older than you. I'll take my sources over your non-existant ones. No matter what it's guaranteed that we'll disagree on this subject.

I'd love to know where I'm basing this on personal emotions? I mean seriously, if you want to argue why I'm fucked up I'd love to tell you about my life from when i was ten until shortly after turning sixteen. :D

Actually, I am a genius, I'd just rather not get it certified. Too much hassle. I'll just let some other arrogant person here pick apart the rest of your statement. I'm bored with your own personal complexes. Arguing against an ego is too pathetic. I'd love to hear what a therapist has to say about you though. If you're not smart enough to get it: I'm an arrogant bastard that actually knows when to stop being a jackass.

Anyways... Did I ever pretend to know anything about medicine? No, not really. I do however understand that I was arguing psychology, not biochemistry or physiology. Also, again, lighten up. I know that your spelling is flawed. I don't really care. I'd just rather not deal with you with a stick up your ass.

So I'm an internet nobody huh? Fine I can accept that. You do realize that you're technically the same way right? If not, that's okay I can stand to be the better person. Not skin off my back. Or should I say off my dick?

Do you remember anything from the first year of your life? Even subconsciously? How do you know it's from that far back? Please get back to me on that.

How do you know English isn't my first language? I do live an a community of at least 80% hispanic origin. That's a lot of spanish to ignore growing up you know. Have you ever heard of being humble? It's great! You come off as a great deal more sociable that way.

I know all the flaws in my argument and I know all the flaws in yours. Can we just get over it and get on with our lives?

Again, I'm bored with your crap so I'm going back to an on-topic discussion:

We were talking about sanitary procedures right?

Seriously guys, clean your stick. :D

Frankly Dduder .... I could go on and on about everything wrong with what you've said so far.
Lightsage, I think you should take a look at this thread the 'learned' Mr Dduder created some time back. It's worth trawling all the way through it.

See, he knows what he's talking about!

Oh yes... I remember that... Gave me a good chuckle. :D

Enough about that though. What did DF say earlier? Oh yeah! Fifteen seconds huh?

Use soap too people. The water doesn't cut it.

Edit: I noticed a really bad pun... :(

Ooohh, another one of those threads. i wish you all would just stop bitching. You know if they whipped it out infront of you you'd be on it faster than a lesbian on Angelina Jolie with tartar sauce lube.

Okay, I'll play nice... !oops!

About your analogy... Yeah. I would. Seriously. :D

Yahoo for you - you've lost most of the tissue that gives you most of the sensation during sex - gosh I wish I was you - NOT!

Advantage you - yeah right :p

at least cut looks better, i don't want to touch uncut.

lol to you and me it's a piece of skin, to a lot of gay men, uncircumcised penis is a modern day substitute for a religion.

Gay men(on jub), it seems, need to look beyond a smelly flab. Anyway, it' really not important, I don't judge a man by whether he is cut or not.
