Citrix?

It's basically a remote access platform like Remote Desktop or VNC where you login to a server through your desktop.

Good ol' Wiki:

Citrix
So....according to Wiki:
From an end-user perspective, users can log in to their corporate network from, for example, an airport kiosk, see all of the applications they would see everyday at work, including Outlook email and any internal applications, and access them from the kiosk in a secure environment.
Does this mean that I'm probably going to be eventually asked to work from home as well as when I'm on duty? Sheesh! :##:

"The Kingdom" has been using Citrix for quite a few years, now. My department, Imaging, is Mac based. However, all of the Corp. Admin., tracking/billing, email, etc., is Windows based. Citrix allows our Macs to "become" P.C.'s., and also acts as a "bridge" for access from any type of computer, from anywhere.

I can log into "The Kingdom" from home, through Citrix. Access my Homepage, and the rest of the system. However, I can't use it to access my work Macs. It may allow a Mac to "warp" into a P.C., but it doesn't seem to work the other way around.

THAT, is a "good thing"! I can't be expected to do my type of work from Home! (Thank goodness I'm not in Admin.!) ..|

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

You can VNC back home to ze mac :P

my mom uses citrix all the time less now than she used to- it is just away to access all the files on your computer at work from anywhere you have internet access. WARNING the only thing about it is that it will make your computer slow while using it- for her version she had to install something to run it, and it does not always turn off when you exit. hope that is less complicated for you than for her.
