Clash of the Titans in trouble?
D.I.S.H.
Scheduled for release in March 2010, crew will still be shooting in January.
It's not usually a good sign.
The 'Clash of the Titans' remake is reportedly going through studio enforced reshoots, which often means aspects are seriously problematic. Not to mention, the screen telling of the myth of Perseus is scheduled for release in March and the reshoots are said to be taking place in January. That is cutting it very close. But, according to Total Film, 'Titans' star Sam Worthington (also the star of 'Avatar') is putting a positive spin on the turn of events.
Speaking at a Los Angeles screening of 'Avatar' on Friday night, Worthington said, 'We're going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it. They [Warner Bros] cut loose with some money so we can add to it. We're going to be shooting more scenes in January, so we're going to be right up against it – the movie comes out in March.'
Worthington went on to explain, 'There were some creaky parts. But they are the parts that we knew were creaky and that we knew were going to be creaky going into it. The studio is also letting us add some gods and scenes. And they're talking about making the movie a 3D film.'
The Harryhausen movies are classics, no doubt about that. But I have no issue with remaking a film like this to take advantage of today's technology. Just as long as the movie as a whole is good. But I'll hold my final judgment until it's released.Remaking this film is an insult to the memory of Ray Harryhausen.
Having never seen the original, I don't know how much better or worse the new version is.
saw it today... what an utterly mediocre affair that was. its not terrible, but everything about it is just so uninspired and functional. i havent seen the original, but if people still remember it, it must be better than this, because this version will surely be forgotten instantly.
i also have to say that im really not a fan of sam worthington. hes just so comletely devoid of any charm, and not even that hot for movie star standarts. couldnt they have gotten somebody who is able to bring a little spark and swagger? chris evans, josh holloway, jason statham, tahmoh penikett... i can think of so many actors who would do a better job, how did worthington end up with starring roles in already three blockbusters? what does hollywood see in him? hes like the male kristen stewart.
