Classical Musicians!!!

i used to play the alto and tenor sax..yeah i know not classical instruments. as far as music goes im getting into Sarah Brightman. but thats where it stops with me

This has inspired me to spend tomorrow morning playing the flute. To heck with finals!

That's awesome! I need to practice again today. Ugh! I spend more time practicing than anything else I believe. Except maybe the internet. Hmmm.

Sacrifices, sacrifices - I guess that's the reason I knew I could never be a professional musician. I don't have the discipline or the will to practise that much. I can totally understand it when you love performing that much though, it's such a buzz that's unlike anything else.

I've played the piano for about 15 years.

I've stopped taking lessons though which makes me sad. I loved it and still love sitting down and playing from time to time.

The last thing I was working on was a piece by Liszt. It's pathetic I don't remember the name!

I also enjoy Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Sebelius, and lots of others.

It's one of the most annoying things when there's an absolutely beautiful piece you can only play part of before it gets really hard.

For me these hard parts usually involve this thing called 'technique' that my teachers kept going on about.

Im a classical musician! i just had a piano competition today in fact

i played a little chopin impromptu, schubert impromptu, rachmaninoff prelude and a beethoven sonata(hammerklavier mvt. 1 for those who know it)

I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to competitions - I don't like the idea of turning something so beautiful as classical music into a contest.

Nothing to do with never having won one of course.

Oooo Rachmaninoff. I LOVE his Prelude in C# Minor. I performed that a couple of times.

One of my all time favorite classical music songs to perform is Romance by Jean Sibelius. It is slow and first, and has a huge fast part, and is just beautiful. Plus it's fun to play!
