I was a bit concerned, too -- he appeared sort of feeble... but then he's still Dirty Harry and others in my mind, so it could be just relative.

In a way, his speech was more coherent and less bizarre than Ryan's, which was so full of lies it was vile.
 
Clint may have a touch of senility. I thought about that, too. Was he reading a telepromter? I've heard he was straight ad-libbing. If so, that would be pretty remarkable. Also, while he may be a Hollywood actor, his career has not involved live audience performances. He gets to do lots of re-takes only in front of a small crew. Only time I've seen him "perform" live is presenting /winning at award shows.

He actually politcally is not that far from myself...a social liberal and a fiscal conservative...we are very rare birds these days. He is from the Eisenhower/Goldwater/Nixon wing of the Repubs...in other words, extinct, in this tea-bagging era of conservatism.
