We closed on our mobile home last Thursday and will close on our next home tomorrow. The new place is 70 years old and just a bit larger than our manufactured home. It does have a nice sized garage as well and we will be about a block north of Detroit. It comes with all appliances except a refrigerator, I am buying a used one for $250. instead of a new one that comes at about $800.
This has been a real draining experience, I hope to never move again.

Before you know it you will be settled in and at ease in your new home. Take everything at your own pace. Good luck with everything.

Glad to hear it has come together. I've moved several older friends who had not moved in decades. It was grueling for them. I moved seven times in six years after 2006, so got my workout.

I'm a bit chagrinned today to learn the house I had so wanted back in Little Rock finally closed on Nov. 18th, for $65k less than I offered on it. I'm so pissed, I could spit. The supposed reason the realtor gave my realtor was that he wasn't sure the house would appraise for the higher offer, so chose one in the middle. I suspect there is something more, something illegal, that went on, but it's done. My perception of realty and realtors remains unchanged. It's like a rigged lottery.

It's a far different game than when I sold houses in the 80's.

An uncle bought his last house in the last 10 years or so ago. I don't know about the whole house sale process--but he comemnted the financial end was hugely different than his last house, bought in the 80s.

Congratulations. Hope the move goes smoothly. I'm a little surprised to hear you and others say that this process has changed.

That is frustrating....I would immediately hunt them both down and piss on their car tires.

Or something. Or wish the new owners well with a dead flower arrangement.
